Chp 3
"Nami..Nami wake up!"
I shot up and bang my head against something hard, it was luffys forehead.
"Owww,whyd you do that!?"he shrieked
"I dunno, WHY WERE YOU ONTOP OF ME!?"
Before I could finish yelling at him the door slowly opened
"Hey our prisoner esca- hey why is she in here? You guys didn't..."
"NO, NO WE DID NOT." We both say in sync and the guy slowly closes the door
"Sorry about that, he's my older brother Ace.Youll get used to him."luffy told me as he started getting out of bed
Luffy dragged me out the room once again and brung me to another room, luffy knocked at the door and it opened revealing robin
"Morning Robin!Nami needs clothes" luffy asked and robin just nodded and left the door open. I didn't realize but luffy was holding my hand and very tight at that. I cant get to used to this, I have to find boa.
"Hey lu-" I was interrupted by his grip tightening
I pulled my hand back as a reaction from the pain
"Im sorry I dozed off there! Are you alright?"he asked
"Yeah.."I replied rubbing the palm of my hand and watched him look away
"You wanted to ask me something?"
"Ask you something..Oh yeah I-" I cant remember what I was going to ask him, it was important too!
"Sorry, I forgot"
"Oh ok"
The door opens more and robin brings out folded clothes and hands them to me
"Come on nami, we got a whole day ahead of us so lets go get dressed!"
This time he didn't drag me and he stayed a few steps ahead of me and watched to see if I ran away
After I go to my room and get dressed I come out to see luffy waiting by the door. I need to remember what I needed to ask him...I think it was more of demand then question.
"Your all ready nami?"he ask leaning against the wall with his back to it
"Yeah, I just have to tell you something first."
"Go ahead."he says as we start walking our way through the building
"Luffy, stop treating me like im your friend. Im not gonna sit here and pretend that I like you,Im not asking you to stop im TELLING you to stop. I don't want to have to remind you again."
Not even taking a glimpse at luffy I can feel somethings wrong
"Oh, that was kinda harsh.Well if you don't want to be my friend that's okay but I might be your only friend here and that's better than nobody so its okay if you don't like me!"
I punch luffy in the face making me almost fall backwards
"I-WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!"he shouted rubbing his cheek
I hear footsteps coming by.Luffy balances himself and before he almost punches me in the face Zoro runs up to him and grabs him from behind
"ZORO GET OFF OF ME!!LEMMME GET HER!"luffy struggled to get out of zoros arms
"Pst,nami follow me"a voice said from behind me, I turned around to see it was robins and needed following her. What am I doing?! Im supposed to be running!
"You can do what you want to me I meant what I did to luffy."I say walking with robin
"No I understand, luffy needed a wake up call anyway."robin said and I couldn't help but giggle. This isn't meant to be funny, stop laughing.
We continue walking, I have no clue where im even going?!
"Hey robin, where are you taking me?"I ask
"Well you weren't intentionally our target. We were looking for someone else and you just happened to be there and since we weren't prepared to take you our whole team feels bad, I want you to feel alive while your here."
"Alive?what do you mean?" The real question is who was the target.
"You're an assassin correct? Luffy told me while you were out cold that we should have you work for u-"
"Work for you!? I don't even know where I am! Theres no way I would work for you!"
"Well, if you work for us and pay off your debts we'll let you go."she told me reaching her hand out for me to shake
"Deal?"
I hesitate to shake her hand but in the end I did. It shouldn't be that bad, I already know what im doing so my debts would get paid off pretty fast
"Hey, how much does boa owe you?"I ask
"About 1 million berries."
"1 MILLION?! ILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PAY THAT" great, I signed my self up for failure
"Boas corp is a wanted corporation, They've made almost 3 million berries just this year. If Boa wants you back she'll have to pay us."
"But Boss doesn't even know where I am! Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"
"Because you didn't ask."robin says as she keeps walking
Robins right, I should've asked sooner.
We make our way into some type of conference table, robin sits down and I end up just sitting beside her. A few more people start walking in and sitting down and eventually all the seats were taken
"Alright,roll call time."
"Franky?" "Here!"
"Ace?" "Here"
"Zoro?".."Zoro?"
"My bad! He got lost again."luffy said dragging zoro by the ear and throwing him onto a chair
"Luffy and zoro here."
"Brook?" "here!!"
"And last, our new Member Nami."
"New memeber?? Im no-"
"Hey what happened to jinbei?"I was interrupted by ace
Everyone suddenly starts talking over each other and robin tries to settle everyone down
"Ahem!"robin yelled
"Thank you. Jinbei had some important business to get to but that's not what I called you guys here for. Nami has agreed to paying off Boas debts so for the time being Nami will work here as a member of the Mafia, I need you guys to treat her as such."
I couldn't even argue back with robin. Everyone looked supportive but I could tell it was all an act.
I took a glimpse at luffy to see he was looking at me and he quickly looked away, maybe I should say sorry.
Robin ends the meeting and tells me that for now luffy will be watching over me.
I walk over to luffy and say "Hey luffy, im sorry."
"No, if you don't want to be my friend that's okay. Buuut starting today your my Co-worker!"he smiled, he got over that quickly
The rest of the day was luffy touring me around the whole building and helping me get used to people and the place. I need to stay focused, I have to get out as soon as I can
