Sean walked through the almost empty streets of Night City. It was late at night and most of the cybernetics would be asleep or partying in nightclubs. Some might just be spending their time normally. Sleep wasn't as important as it used to be. It's the future after all. No one is as human as they used to be. Flying vehicles that belonged to the NCPD and technically the government that doesn't fuckin' exist? Yeah. Cars zoomed by in a rush, billboard signs illuminating the streets. Sean had his hood up as he walked slightly hunched to a building. Arasaka Corporation was well known for many things and he was going there.

As he went into the building, he stopped by the toilet. He felt dizzy, quickly rushing to the sink and puked out his dinner. Jackie had called at that very moment. "You alright man?" Sean coughed. "Yeah.. Just the stress and couldn't keep my food down." Jackie sighed. "Alright. If you need anything, let me know." Sean hung up on him, cleaning himself up before leaving.

Sean walked into Jenkins' office and sat down. He watched as Jenkins watched a screen behind his desk. He had ordered to kill the people at the European Space council meeting. He sat down and answered a call.
"You didn't say you were gonna kill them." A lady spoke through the call. "I stopped them. It was better." Jenkins answered. The lady went on with a lot of stuff before the call ended.
"She can be really annoying," Sean chuckled awkwardly. Jenkins shrugged, "Yeah. You're right." He walked over to the couch. Sean followed.
"You should defend yourself. Show her who's boss," Sean mumbled. "You're right. I should defend myself. That's why I need you here." He flipped a suitcase and opened it.
"A datashard?" Sean looked at him.

"It has all the information on Amethyst. The lady you heard earlier. It has all the locations, security, driver, personal data. All the shit you need." Jenkins smirked.
Sean pushed the shard in his head and scrolled through all the info. He was right. It had everything.
"You'll need someone you can trust for this hitjob. Gonna be a tough kill." Sean nodded as he kept the shard.
"And the cash. In case." Jenkins passed him a bundle.
"The AV will be waiting in the terminal." Sean nodded and took the cash, leaving for the terminal. Sean called Jackie.

"Hey amigo, what's the problem?" Sean was silent for awhile. "I'll meet up with you." "Alright. Meet me at Lizzie's bar." Jackie hung up

Sean climbed in the AV and looked out the window. "What is your destination?" A voice asked. "Destination. Lizzie's bar," Sean answered. The AV hovered over Night City. The building lights were beautiful as they covered the city in purple. Sean felt relieved when he found his inhaler. He had forgotten to take it. Taking in a deep breath, he took a deep breath of the medication. His lungs felt relaxed as it stopped struggling to breathe properly. Soon, the AV 'landed', more like hovered, on a rooftop.

Sean got off and headed straight for the bar. The place was so lively, colourful lights, people having fun. He got up to Jackie at the far corner.
"So, what's the news you have, amigo? I'm sure it's something for me." Sean smirked, pulling his hood down.
"Look into this datashard. It has what we need." Jackie took it from Sean and insert it into his head.
"A hitjob?" Sean shrugged, "Could use the extra cash." Jackie stood up, leaning against the rail.
"It's hard to say no to that amount of cash." Two guards walked up to them, both in similar suits. Sean immediately recognised them. What were agents from Arasaka doing here? One walked up to him and he knew he was caught.

"Hand it over." Sean shook his head, he wasn't going to. He recognised the guy as Mark. Well known in Arasaka Corporation. Mark grabbed the back of his neck, causing him to see errors and glitches. Mark was trying to force him to shut down...
"I said hand over the shard." Jackie grabbed his shoulder, "Easy tiger. You don't wanna mess with us." Mark let Sean go before facing him.
"That's private information that he's holding. And it's illegal shit to kill someone of high status." Mark spat as he swiped the shard out of Jackie's hand.
"He's coming with us." Mark grabbed Sean by the arm, pulling him up. Jackie stood in his way, "Take the shard. But leave the boy. Give him a break. You don't wanna mess around here." Mark stood there for a moment before letting Sean go.

"I'll be back for him. Just you wait." Mark whispered to Jackie, leaning close before walking away. Sean was panting and wobbly from the strain earlier. He sat down and held his head, feeling the pain lessen after some time. "You alright there?" Sean chuckled lightly, "That bastard really did a number to my head." Jackie slapped his shoulder, bringing him out of the bar. Life changed dramatically since. Jackie taught Sean to live the life on the streets. It had changed for a year. Just killing, dealing and getting cash. Sean did change a lot. He used to be closed off and normal. Now he's living in the lower life of Night City. Although, it didn't last before he had to get a job done.

Getting out of bed, Sean groaned. He slowly got himself changed into a tank top and ripped jeans. He had on his black gauges and black eyeliner. He liked his new self. It felt badass and made him confident. Today, he had a mission to accomplish. And it depended on him and Jackie to save a life. Which wasn't gonna be easy. Grabbing his handgun, he checked it's ammo and grabbed a dagger. Walking up to the vending machine, he got himself a burrito. It was gonna be another day. Grabbing his leather jacket and wearing it on, he headed out. He slowly ate while he made his way to an open food street. The smell hit him and made him smile. This place had always been a go to when he needed a distraction.

The bar's a second option. Walking up to a noodle stand, he sat next to Jackie, who was busy eating ramen. "So, are you ready for the mission?" Sean shrugged, "Can't say no to some things." Jackie chuckled, "You're right." Jackie finished his meal and they both were soon in the car and off to the location given.

I know what you're thinking. 'Wasn't this book published before?' Yes. I unpublished and redid some of the story cuz of grammar errors and stuff. Hope it doesn't seem too much for a change.
