Simple as That :chapter one

"What did you do to her? Violet, you shouldn't have beat her up like that. Violence is never the answer." Said Principle Smith.

I stop listening to her babbling after she mention something about violence not being the answer. It wasn't my fault! Cara was making fun of me. I didn't even beat her up. I pushed her away from me. She and her friends were getting too close and so I pushed her. I even told the girl to stop. I didn't expect her to fly into the locker causing her right arm to break.

"Violet!" Principle Smith shouted.

My head circulated up to stare at her. " Yes?" I respond quietly.

Principle smith opened her mouth to respond but was distracted by the door opening. My head quickly turned back to the ground.

"Hi, Mr. Calski. I was just talking to Violet about the violence she used on Cara."

Dad took the gray chair right next to me. His anger flared off of him like heat rays. I dear not to look up.

"Sorry for my daughter's inappropriate behavior. She will be punished severly." He placed a lot of emphasis on the last word.

"Mr. Calski, you are aware that she will be suspended for three week and fined a two hundred dollar ticket. I understand your daughter has only been attending Ray High School for only a couple months, but she broke the girls arm, and Ray High School does not tolerate violence here."

I wanted to speak in my defense but knew Dad would just tell me to be quiet. He always told me that, because he said I was the one to cause the other person harm. I would never hurt anyone. They got hurt by themselves. When I was little, I played patty cake with this other girl and as soon as our hands collided, her wrist broke. Last year i was being bullied by this boy and when he on purposely bumped his shoulder into me, it dislocated.

"Thank you, principle Smith. We will be on our way now." I saw Dad's leg rise and as he walked out, I followed.

Once we were in the car, I felt a sudden burn on my ankle. The burn was coming from my crescent moon birth mark. It didn't hurt that bad, so I let it be.

My dad drove out of the parking lot. " Violet?"

"Yes?" I asked nervously.

"What happen?" He asked calmly.

" I pushed her away."

" I thought I told you to not touch other people. You are incapable of not hurting humans." The way he said that made it seemed as if we weren't humans.

" Dad I touch you and your fine." I replied.

"That... Why did you push the girl?" He changed the subject as he pulled into our drive way.

I didn't want to tell him. I'm a big girl now and don't need him to keep protecting me from everything. I got out of the car to avoid his question.

"Violet, i'm trying to help you." He said once we were in the house.

"Fine, you want to know why?" My temper flared up. "Because she..." The burning on my birth mark was back but worst. I suddenly felt a migraine and fell to the floor on my arm and legs. I heard a howl but didn't know where it came from. I heard my bones breaking apart.

My dad dropped to the ground next to me. " Are you okay? Where does it hurt?" He put his hands around my wrist attempting to pull me up. "Where does it hurt, Violet?" He yelled at me.

All I could do was feel the pain and grab my right ankle to show him.

"Oh no, it's breaking!" Was all I heard from my dad before everything became black.
