One Way Ride

     Opening my eyes was becoming harder and harder as time passed but slowly very slowly, I managed to open them. I had another coughing fit last night so I couldn't go to bed until late, as I opened my eyes, I instantly regretted it. I knew it was going to be a bad day today and worst of all it was the weekly breakfast that my 'father' deemed important. I sat up from under my covers, with much hesitance, I instantly got chills not knowing if from the cold of my room or from my weak body.

    Standing up and walking to my closet to get dressed for the day I was thinking of so many reasons to just get back in bed, I decided against it instead grabbing a pair of black sweatpants and a long sleeved grey turtle neck. Heading to the bathroom to take a shower I heard a knock on my bedroom door. "Young master Kaia, Miss Lilian has told me to tell you to be down in 20 minutes for breakfast." I heard through the door. "Alright tell her I'll be down soon." After that I heard footsteps retreating from my door.

     Walking into my bathroom I turned on the shower to warm the water taking of my pajama shirt I could feel a cough forming in my throat.

      Looking into the bathroom you could see a young man coughing like he was under water drowning. As a hand was brought up to his mouth an especially loud cough ripped through his chest, the hand was dropped down towards the sink and a dark crimson liquid was displayed over a pale shaking hand.

     "I knew it was going to be a bad day." Washing of my hand I finished undressing and stepped into the shower. After the shower I got dressed and headed down to the dinning hall, Looking up I could see the witch and her offspring. I also saw Ellis and Evan, I believe they saw me too as Ellis smiled and Evan turned my way. " What are you waiting for sit down." I looked at the witch, then walked over to the set next to Ellis.

     "So, Kaia what are your plans for today." my father asked, "Nothing really, just working from home most likely." I said in a monotone voice.

     I could feel the glares from Oskar and Glenn from across the table, I find it funny that they hate me because they can't get father to pay attention to them. " So you're just being lazy like usual, When will you actually do something with your life!" As the witch screamed across the table I saw my fathers face turn sour. "Lillian don't make a scene!"

     Getting up and grabbing Ellis and signaling to Evan that we were leaving, I could hear a scoff from behind us and I knew exactly who it was, Oskar.

     "Of course you would leave when things get hard, that's just like you." You could hear the sneer on his face without even turning around. "Whatever we're going to go eat somewhere else."

     As Kaia left with Ellis and Evan all the servants in the room felt pity for Kaia. Kaia was a gentle person to everyone he didn't hate, so all the servants felt bad for how Kaia was treated by his family but they knew he didn't want them to expose him to others.

     After him and his siblings ate breakfast he sent Ellis to Evan to school and went to work. Going into his office and sitting down on the chair he got chills, he felt so cold that his teeth started to chatter together. He got used to getting cold often so he always kept blankets in the bottom drawer of his desk, reaching down and grabbing one he got extremely nauseous.

     Running to bathroom and puking up his breakfast Kaia really regretted not going back to bed. After brushing his teeth and taking some medicine for the pain he slowly went back to the desk to finally start working. His father didn't care what he did most of the time, the witch and her offspring thought that he was just playing games all day. While that was partly true he was making so much money he could buy 5 mansions and still have money. That was because he built a 'game' that allowed him to teach people how to race and do stunts as long as they payed him he would show them what ever they wanted to know. Of course he wouldn't show them to much so that he would still be the best.
