A classic Love story...or not

Chapter 1

My name is Carol. I live in Ohio with my parents and siblings, my brother Axle and younger sister Amelia. I have always lived with them. I turn 18 in a couple of days and then I can finally move out. Simple right? No! My parents are very controlling and they won't let me move out. They have some good reasons like "It's too dangerous" or "You have no plans". I have plans and they aren't that bad. I plan to move in with my boyfriend of 3 years. If we ever break up I can live on my own. My family doesn't like Devin. They actually hate him. They think I'm too good for him. They think he's going to take advantage of me. I don't believe so. I love him. Anyway. Back to the current time. I was in the kitchen making dinner when my mom walked in. "Honey, you are going with your sister to her open house. I don't want to go." She said while looking at her phone.

"Uhm you're her mother. Why am I going in your place?" I said harshly. She looked up at me.

"Because you're her sister and neither your dad nor I want to go. We are busy anyway." She scolds.

"Fine...Is she okay with it?" I question.

"No, she's being dramatic. She's upset I'm not going. She'll be fine though." Then she walked out. I sighed. She's difficult....But she's my mother so I've gotta deal with her. I walked upstairs into my sister's room.

"Amelia are you okay?" She was crying into her pillow.

"Does it look like I'm okay?" Her voice was muffled by the pillow.

"I'm sorry mom doesn't want to go but it's okay. I'd love to go with you and meet all your teachers!" I said as happily as I could. She looked up at me.

"Really?" She sniffled.

"Yeah!" I pat her on the back.

"Come on. Get ready and let's get going" I say standing up. Amelia quickly got up and I walked out. A couple of minutes later she walked down and we headed out to the school. We walked in and walked to each of the classes at the school. We walked into one of her classes and saw Devin. He was with another girl and a kid.

"Devin?!" I say shocked. Devin turned around and looked at me stunned.

"Carol! Hey!" He walks over to me.

"What are you doing here?"

"I had to come with my sister...What are you doing here?" I look past him at the girl who started walking over.

"Hello...Who are you?" She looks me up and down confused.

"Amelia. Go talk to your teacher really quick" I look over at her and smile.

"Okay!" She then walks off and I look back at them.

"I'm his girlfriend?" I finally answered her question.

"No. I'm his girlfriend?" She responded in a very confused tone. We both look at Devin.

"Explain."

"Uhm..I...Don't know what she's talking about...." He says while rubbing the back of his neck. He quickly dashed out and the girl and I introduced ourselves. The kid was her little brother and his name was Max and her name was Tessa. We walked over to the teacher with the two kids and apologized for what happened. She said it was fine and we ended the day and left. Tessa and I stayed in contact but I blocked Devin on everything.
