"God dammit, Lexi! I know you are cheating on me!"
"No, Josh! I swear! I would never-" Another slap.
"Shut up, you whore! I see the way you look at other men! You are practically undressing them with your eyes!"
"That's not true-" Slap.
"You are going to regret cheating on me!" He yelled before grabbing me by the hair and dragging me into the bedroom. This was my basic Friday night; he would come home drunk and think I would be cheating on him.
The pain lasted a few more hours before he passed out on the floor due to the alcohol. I looked at the clock. 7:00 AM. There was no point going back to sleep. I walked to the bathroom and turned on the light. Ugh. Stupid brightness. I thought as I adjusted my eyes to the new brightness. I looked into the mirror and gasped. My arms were covered with bruises and there were some on my legs. It was a good thing that I worked in a place that had to deal with wild animals. Now it could look like a bear fucked me up or something. However, I was really surprised that I didn't have anything on my face. Just a few red spots, but that was it.
I sighed and decided to go to the Super Market. There was nothing to eat here anyway. I took a shower and changed into a pair of jeans and a nice shirt before grabbing my purse and heading out the door.
On the way there, I blared Avenged Sevenfold. That band was awesome! They were my favorite band ever! And Synyster Gates was the hottest thing that walked the planet. I would give anything to meet him!
I pulled into a park and walked into the Super Market, getting a cart and thinking about what we needed in the house.
I was shopping for a good two hours, the cart almost full with stuff. I just needed to get a few more things. I was paying more attention to the type of tomato sauce I should be getting then I should, so a cart hit mine, startling me.
"I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention!" A voice said. A voice I knew all too well.
"Angie!" I squealed with a big grin on my face.
"Oh my god! Lexi Martino?! Is that you? I haven't seen you in so long!" Angie said as she threw herself at me, embracing me in a hug.
"I know! It's been two years! You look great!" I said as I pulled away and took a look at her. She still had her long, blonde hair with her thin body.
"What about you? You look amazing! Your hair looks so beautiful! I love how shiny and brown it is! And look at your body, girl! It has curves!" She said with a giggle. I laughed along with her.
"So, what are you doing here? I thought you were in Europe doing dance and stuff!" I laughed. Yeah. She was a choreographer. She traveled around the world to do the choreography foranything that involved dance.
“You think dancers don’t get vacations?” She joked. “Yeah, just came to see my boyfriend; He just came back from tour as well, so we are spending the time off we have together. So we are having a pool party with him, his friends and me.” She ended her sentence with a dreamy sigh.
“You didn’t tell me you had a boyfriend!” I said with a smile. “Who’s the guy?” I winked at her.
“His name is Matt. He is so great! We’ve been together for six months.”
“Well that’s good! I am happy for you.” I said, “Well, I’d love to stay and chat, but I have to be going.”
“Oh no! Um, how about you come to the pool party? We need to catch up.”
“You know I can’t swim, Angie.”
“You can tan with me!”
“I don’t know . . .” I didn’t want her to see my bruises.
