The Hour Of Midnight.

Professor Trelaweny

Delilah walked around the school in shock. There was still time before the hogwarts express leave for king's Cross station. So she decided to take a walk to clear her mind. As she walked up a set of stairs she stopped in front of a ladder.

It seems to lead to an attic like place. When a woman came down the ladder muttering to herself. She was wearing a dusty green robes and round glasses that seemed to magnify her eyes. She was wearing beads of chains and necklaces and bangles. In short she looked like a hippy.

Delilah curbed the urge to flee. The last thing she needed was to bump into a batty divination professor. When del was contemplating what would be the next best course of action, the woman turned around to see her. She jumped back in suprise and patted her chest to calm her rapidly beating heart.

"Oh, shouldn't be on your way to catch the train right now dear." Trelaweny asked her in a normal voice. 'Now, if I consider Trelaweny as normal then something is really wrong with me.'  "I was just about to go and do just that professor but I suddenly saw you and thought to greet you before ... " Del trailed off as the divination professor seemed to once again lost to the world and went back to muttering to herself.

'Great, is she drunk? I think it's time I make my leave before something go amiss. 'And just like that she jinxed it. Trelaweny suddenly sprung straight and looked intently into her eyes and let me tell you with those magnified eyes so close to her face, it was a bloody miracle she was able to hold in her laughter.

" Nothing in this world is a coincidence dear. Everything happens for a reason, we just have to find out what it is and take action accordingly." Professor Trelaweny said in a slow whispery voice. Delilah nodded her head to show the universal sign of understanding.

'I knew something like this would happen.So what, is she going to predict something about me now. ' Del thought sarcastically. Even though she knew some of Trelaweny's predictions have come true in this world, she knew that most of the time she was just pretending and fooling everyone to think she was really a true seer.

When suddenly Trelaweny grabbed on to her shoulders, " But lucky for you, the fates have decided to make it easier for you and brought me on your path. "Del looked at the hands grabbing tightly to her and thought 'Why does she have a strong sense of uneasiness clawing at her heart.' " Oh really."

"Yes of course. Why don't we do a little reading on you now dear. " Trelaweny started to get excited as went on to think on the idea. Delilah tried to shrug her off but alas it proved to be futile effort as in the next moment Professor Trelaweny started to push her towards the ladder to climb.

When she entered the room, she was not surprised to see the gloomy, dusty room with strange symbols littering on the curtains of the wall. There was no sunlight streaming into the room. Trelaweny made her sit on a small three legged chair and sat in front of her with a round wooden table seperating the two of them.

She took a collection of cards from her robes and started to shuffle them. Del sighed inwardly as she knew there was no turning back at this point. She resigned herself to her fate and stared at the cards, 'you have to be joking me.' They were tarot cards. Trelaweny divided the deck into two portion and spread them uniformly in an order,on the table.

"We are going to do cartomancy dear. You have to pick three cards from this pack of cards and do it again from this pack too. " Professor told her in the same low whispery voice. Del hesitated for a second before picking three cards from the deck to her right.

And gave it to Trelaweny but she shook her sideways , "place it on the table dear." Del's eyebrows wrinkled in confusion but did as she was told. She picked another three set of cards from the deck to her left. And once again looked at Trelaweny and placed it on the table.

Professor Trelaweny took one card from the first three cards and examined it closely. Delilah raised one eyebrow in question , "Is everything alright, professor? " Professor Trelaweny looked at her, " The major aracana cards shows us the big events that had happened, would happen and are happening in our life. It makes predictions through karmic influence. " 'Sound made up to me" Del didn't say it out though.

"Your first card that was your past shows me the fool. "She cut her off and shouted in indignation, "Excuse me. " Trelaweny smiled a mile wide smile and said, "Not to worry dear. It's a good card. It says that you have started an unexpected and exciting new adventure after a leap of faith and that it would prove to be a rewarding experience." Del blinked in surprise and trepidation."And.. "

Trelaweny started to talk about the second card from the first deck , "your present shows me the magician. It reveals to me that you now have the chance to make your dream happen through determination and willpower. It advices you to remember that you are now powerful enough and to get rid of any discretion and make a detailed plan to stay on track. "

Delilah nodded in disbelief. Professor Trelaweny saw the third card and her eyes had an unnatural glow in them, "The wheel of fortune shows me your future. Your destiny has been redesigned . Remember you can't control the powers of universe but you can understand your role in it in this life and in this universe. Don't be afraid to listen to your guts and everything will work out accordingly. "

"Now the minor arcana cards give us more context and details regarding our major arcana cards. " Professor Trelaweny took the remaining three cards she picked from the other deck. She observed it closely , " The ace of cup deals with elements of water.It indicates that you have trouble involved with adapting to your surrounding and emotional problems that you are struggling to let go."

And before Del could even begin to comprehend what was said she began to read the next card, "The seven of wands gives us a glimpse into your fiery personality and passion. It shows us that you posses strength and determination to push the limits to reach your dreams. This card reveals what is truly meaningful to you and tells us more about who you are and what are your believes. "

Del was sitting numbly, 'God let this be the end of shocking
revelations. 'But of course the fates were not done with her. "The last card, the queen of swords gives us warning to pay close attention to your surrounding as it shows  betrayal and conflict in the near future. "

And that's when Delilah knew that she was fucked up.
