Have you ever been struck by lightning? Probably not. Only 1 in 15,300 people have been struck by lightning before. If you have been, then sweet, you and Hongjoong apparently have something in common. Hongjoong never thought he'd be struck by lightning, he thought it was just a myth that people couldn't actually be struck by lightning. He certainly doesn't think that anymore.

After every dance practice or every day of schedules, Hongjoong always goes into his studio to work on songs for their new album. Most nights he will come home around 2am and it's that frequent that most nights he sleeps on the couch so he doesn't always wake Seonghwa up when he comes home. It was just another night where Hongjoong was working on a song, finally leaving the studio around 1am.

"I'll meet you out in the van, I just need to finish saving some stuff," Maddox said as Hongjoong was ready to leave. Hongjoong nodded and grabbed the keys the older was holding out to him.

"Thanks for doing this by the way Hyung," Hongjoong said. Usually the manager will drive him home but he had a home emergency so Maddox offered to drive Hongjoong back to the dorm once they were finished. Hongjoong walked down the halls and over to the entrance to the building. He groaned to himself when he saw that it was pouring outside with some thunder and lightning. That means he's going to get wet, very wet. He stood by the door for a few minutes to build up the courage to go out into the rain. He finally grabbed the door handle and swung it open, putting on his hood and walking outside. The rain immediately started to hit him, soaking through his clothes and he frowned but pressed the unlock button on the keys and walked towards the car, his head down to stop the rain from getting into his eyes. When he was halfway to the car, he started to get an odd feeling in his gut. He paid no mind to it though as he hurried to the car, more worried about getting to the car and out of the rain. He quickened the last few steps and reached out for the doorhandle, wrapping his hand around it. He didn't even have time to open it as there was a sudden flash and an intense, burning heat shot through his entire body. He jolted back, his brain going fuzzy and his vision going black. The last thing he heard was someone screaming his name...

He woke up to the sound of quiet whispered, something soft underneath him and something warm beside him, a steady heartbeat beside under his ear. He mustered up some energy and slowly peeled his eyes open. The room wasn't very bright thankfully, so he was able to keep his eyes open and looked around. He instantly knew he was in a hospital room from the equipment around and the needle in his arm, hooked up to an IV. It was also clear that someone else was in the bed with him and he was curled up against them, no doubt the eldest member. His glanced around and his landed on Maddox who was in a chair beside the bed, talking quietly.

"I don't know how it wasn't worse, he was struck by lightning," Maddox said quietly.

"The car was struck by lightning, he was just unfortunate enough to be touching the car at the time," Seonghwa said with a sigh.

"The doctors said he would be ok though right, like no long term injuries. I don't want to be the reason he loses his career and-."

"You aren't the reason Hyung, it was just a freak accident," Seonghwa cut him off sharply. Immediately after, he quickly ran his fingers through Hongjoong's hand and rubbed his shoulder softly, as if trying not to disturb him.

"I'm the reason he went out then and not earlier or later. I could've just told him to wait," Maddox said, sighing in frustration. Hongjoong frowned, not happy that Maddox was blaming himself for whatever happened.

"S'not your fault," he said quietly. Maddox's head immediately turned towards him and a relieved smile broke out onto his face. Hongjoong also felt Seonghwa rub his shoulder a bit more.
