Dear Diary,

How have you been? I've recently joined Wattpad and read lots fanfiction online. I enjoyed my time reading these stories and books from creative and intelligent writers, and I've decided to start writing my own story! I've always dreamt about being a writer in the future, but the thought of it just disappoints my Asian parents, so I guess this is the only way to cross out one of the things in my bucket list.

Being a writer is one of the ways to express my feelings and thoughts since it's quite hard for me to express it directly. People say I'm a cheerful and brave girl who speaks very confidently, but honestly, I'd say I'm a shy and introvert person. Plus, my purpose of writing a book is to entertain the audience or possibly help people who might face the same difficulties as me. I really like to help people who are in need. It makes me feel useful and happy. I really hope my diary is enjoyed by most people.

Speaking of bucket list, I loved the English interest class I had today. Bucket List was the new book we're learning. I have these classes every Saturday for ten years now and I love every second of them. (Yes, this year is my ten year anniversary in that school.) Although C didn't come to class today since her relatives got Covid, W and I had lots of fun chatting and joking around. We did a project on the most expensive foods in the world and surprisingly, W was being really cooperative. He usually does things a bit untidy and slow and makes Teacher J frustrated every time, but ever since Teacher L came and observe our class, he takes things more seriously now.

Teacher J has been teaching me for the past four years now and she is honestly the best teacher I've ever had in my life! She listens to me when I vent, laughs when I joke, teaches very, very well too! That could be the reason why I call these lessons "therapy sessions". In these classes, I get to say what I did and learnt for my past week and plans for next week. I get to express my feelings, thoughts, difficulties to everyone and it lifts my pressure up every time. Plus, we have to speak English, which is my most fluent language, in these lessons. Through these years, I really improved my English, thanks to these lessons and my reading time. This is why English interest class is the best thing I could attend in the whole wide world.

I also studied Life & Society this evening after class, since Common Test is on Monday. It's quite hard because politics is really not my thing. I don't give a damn about politics actually, but I do agree that freedom is needed, since we seriously don't have much right now. Sigh, I'm getting unalived for saying this.

Anyways, this past week I had Common Test on most of the subjects but since Typhoon 8 had to interrupt Wednesday, tests that were held that day were moved to Monday. Yesterday, which is Friday, was my school's "Swimming Gala" day. I didn't participate in swimming and competing others, so all I did was yell and cheer for four hours straight. My throat hurt and was sore but I did manage to feel better today. I got to chat with my old friend, Nat, and her friend H, and us three had fun talking about anime, online friends and school stuff.

After Swimming Gala, I had piano lessons and my teacher got impatient because I didn't play the piano well. Of course, it's normal in Asian countries. Later, I ate a horrible buffet with my family which has wine and beer everywhere. Even the orange juice contains alcohol! For a teenage girl like me, being there was quite an unpleasant experience since drunk people are everywhere and the food was not so great, or I'm just a picky eater. I'd say it was not worth the 30-minute-waiting. I would most definitely not go back there for a while.

Additionally, tomorrow is Sunday and it was suppose to be a barbeque day but Common Test hasn't ended so I'm really disappointed when my parents cancelled it. Thankfully, the subjects aren't that difficult so it should be easy for me to finish studying. I'm not going to mention the other subject of the Common Test besides Life and Society since it would be a dead giveaway of my nationality. The names mentioned in these stories are also not true because I do not have the right to expose anyone's name. Hopefully my readers will understand that, but I doubt anyone would read this long-a** crap anyway.

Nonetheless, it's already night. I should really go to bed. Wish to write more chapters in the future.

Yours sincerely,
Rochelle

Hey, everyone! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my very first book. This diary is the first composition I've ever written willingly for a long time and I really hope this book can help anyone out there. I thought about writing a book to improve my writing skills since my dream really is to become a writer, and I was encouraged by my wonderful teacher, Teacher J. I hope I don't disappoint the people who support me. Nevertheless, I'll update soon and I hope you have a good day!
