Inspiration - The book "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", but like the Overly Sarcastic Production summary because I haven't read the book, and the fact that Mr. Pibb is technically a knockoff Dr. Pepper
Writing style - IDK, just typing words until it makes sense
Quick Author's note: Might continue this, just needed to get this out of my brain, so I don't know yet. Also, not technically horror, but if the original book is considered horror in any way, shape, or form, then I count this as horror.
Here's the actual story
Dr. Pepper was a well respected man of science. He had quite a bit of money from his inventions and discoveries. Unfortunately, Dr. Pepper desperately wanted to be able to have some sense of freedom, without tarnishing his reputation. One day, he decided to attempt to transform himself to be unrecognizable so he could have this freedom using a serum he created. For the next few days, Dr. Pepper enjoyed the freedom of his false identity, Mr. Pibb.
Weeks go by, and Dr. Pepper wakes up one morning to realize he transformed into Mr. Pibb without the serum. Panicked, Dr. Pepper decides to not transform into Mr. Pibb for a while, unfortunately, he misses the freedom of being Mr. Pibb, and he decides to indulge himself a bit. Through a fault in the man's reasoning, he ends up killing someone.
Realizing that Mr. Pibb is now a wanted criminal, he thinks that this was, in some twisted way, for the best. The fear of getting arrested was enough to keep Dr. Pepper from transforming himself into Mr. Pibb, and so, Dr. Pepper goes about trying to feel free again by some other means.
Dr. Pepper, unknowingly, was still giving into whatever it was that was causing him to turn into Mr. Pibb without the serum, and soon, he continues to change without wanting to.
One day, Dr. Pepper runs out of one of the chemicals in the serum, and no matter how hard he tries to replicate the first batch that allowed this to happen.
