Ashley opens her eyes, looking at her psychiatrist. Noticing that he's starting to get more wrinkles. "What did you see this time?" Mark asks, hoping for a good response.
He has been asking the same question for the past three months. "It's all the same. Waking back up in the ally next to Taylor and they the police showing up. Everything before that is black," Ashley states with a casual tone of voice, looking at Mark.
Mark is looking back down at his paper he was taking notes on. Lifting his head back up toward her, he says. "Have you tried pushing to get through that mind block?" There the question is.
Shaking her head while rolling her eyes and then looking around, she starts to wonder why she even bothered. Turning back toward him she says. "You know that I am trying. You push me every time I'm here for my appointment." Her frustration starting to show from her voice.
"You know that if you don't remember you will be stuck in this hospital. I just wanna help you remember. You need to go back under and push harder." Mark insists.
Shaking her head frantically she cries, "No, I don't want to go back under. I have been pushing forward for months. Nothing has changed. Whatever is blocking me from moving forward doesn't want me to find out what happened." She says, yelling over her doctor.
"Ashley," he responds gently. "We have to keep pushing. If you can't get past this block you are never going to get out of this hospital. You'll never know what is going to happen to other young girls if you can't remember." Getting frustrated with Ashley on not wanting to push more.
Looking him straight in the face, she turns her head and laughs a little. "Do you think that I don't know that?" Ashley sighs, frustrated. "You tell me the same thing every time I come in for my sessions. Telling me tat there will be other girls dying. Trying to guilt me into everything. You know that it's not going to help your case." She says as turns and gets up.
"There are so many more things that you need to think about." Mark is starting to get irritated that Ashley isn't putting in more effort, and she can tell by how much he's talking with his hands.
"What's the point of pushing if it's always going to be the same outcome? I've been doing this for three months. I would've been able to get through by now. It's not working!" Ashley exclaims. Her breathing is getting heavier and Mark can tell that she is getting irritated. "Also don't put this all on me. Saying that if I don't remember the killer can get another girl or that I'll be stuck here if I don't remember. You are the reason what I'm here. Just to save your ass." Ashley is starting to slowly raise her voice.
Ashley starts heading for the door when Mark decides to say something. "You know that you need to find a way past the block!" He yells as she walks out the door.
As Ashley is walking down the hallway all she thinks about is what Mark said. Of course she wants to find out happened to Taylor. Taylor was the only one that actually cared for her. She feels something slide down her face, and when she wipes her fingers over her cheek, she finds her fingers wet with tears.
Looking up she notices that she'd be entering the cafeteria. She wipes the rest of her tears before walking in. Not wanting anyone to notice. As she walks into the cafeteria, she hears her name being called. She turns her head toward the direction it came from, and notices her friend, Emily, waving toward her in the back corner. Ashley nods her head to let Emily know that she was going over, then she notices that there's one group of boys there.
She looks straight at the group and notice one person as she walks toward Emily in particular. He looks so familiar to her. Shaking her head, Ashley looked back at Emily, then at the table to see it covered in food.
