It was a cold evening in the streets of Hyogo Prefecture. The breeze is freezing, the lights of the streets seem like fading with the blow of the wind.
It wasn't actually an eventful night except from the fact that the snow is falling down the streets.
It was dark and cold like the heart of our protagonist- Ojiro Aran. Being betrayed and lost himself along the way. He needed the light. But where could he acquire one when all his life, all there is darkness?
He stood on the same place, same spot, same pavement. He shivered as the wind blew hard. His sweater isn't enough that's for sure, and the coldness is penetrating beneath his gloves.
Damn it. Where is he? He grumbled rubbing his gloved hands together to gain warmth.
Footsteps were heard after some while, and Aran lifted his head to see a familiar face.
"Did you bring the items?" t tall brown skinned protagonist of our story asked placing both hands inside his black jacket pockets.
The other guy wears a black beanie as well, and a mask covering half of his face. He was very observant of his surroundings, or nervous, as he checked every angle of that alleyway. He is being extra careful now that there are reports about this kinds of transactions going on around town, and yes, raids... that most of their men were arrested more and more frequently.
"All the good items as per usual, Aran." he replied quickly grabbing some small plastic wrappers out of his sweater's pockets. In the dim, you'll just say those are empty candy wraps, but as the moon glimmers down to them, you'll soon realize... they are not empty- just few amount of substances inside fills the fully- sealed transparent plastics.
"Good. Hand them over now." Aran demanded.
The other immediately pushed it near Aran. The seller glanced side by side making sure no one was nearby or could see the transaction going on. Aran gets hold of quickly of the small products, getting it closer to his nose and smell the plastic. He couldn't smell the items inside but for certain, he's excited.
"Sweet" he mumbled"Don't act too suspiciously, Watanabe ." Aran said loud before handing over a thick amount of money from his belt bag.
"Hush! Will you quiet it down? I don't want to end up in jail!" the other reprimanded in a very hush and scared voice. He looked around nervously and slowly pulled his mask higher to hide his face more as if someone could see through it.
"If you keep being suspicious though, the dogs will smell you. Cops have great eyes and sharp noses these days." Aran reminded with a smirk, shaking his head side to side.
"Arrrg!" the other scoffed. "You know... This will be the last, okay? I want to continue run the business smoothly. They are into me recently... I don't want to ruin everything before I reach my million dollars, okay?" his voice was rushed and panicky, and Aran just stared at him with bewilderment- or bemused.
"Last? Stop giving me this bullshit!" Aran angrily pushed the other, holding tightly the latter's collar.
"Shut up, Aran! You don't know the risk-" he yelled back trying to push back the taller man
"Of course I know, but..." he said letting go of the other.
"We'll just stop for a month or two, that's it... Just bear with it for the meantime, okay!?" Watanabe gasped taking a step back.
"F... Fine then... But, don't expect me to wait for you! I'll find a better supplier compared to you so don't complain when I do." the dark skinned man scoffed frowning deep.
"Do what you want... But I warned you okay?!" Watanabe said facing Aran with a warnful expression
"Worried?" he asked
"Yes. Of course, we've been doing business for the longest time. I consider you a friend-" Watanabe replied but was stopped midway by his client.
"Nope.. Stop right there. We aren't friends, okay? We're just doing business, that's it. I don't want people claiming I'm their friend and bust me up right in front of my face. Get lost!" Aran replied before loudly clicking his tongue.
The other man frowned and left, his face contorts at those words, and anger's visible in his eyes.
"Who do you think you are?! You aren't invincible, Aran." he angrily whispered to himself putting his palms inside his jacket before vanishing into the darkness of the night.~To be Continued~
