Happy birthday!

Today was You're birthday, but alas it's been like it has been for the past 6 years. All alone with your parents taking you out to eat and small presents. You haven't had a big party since you were little which it didn't phase you but you did wish more people could celebrate it with you.

Today seemed the worst of it all, your parents were busy, your friends were too, All you had was the comfort of your close friend, Amy Rose.

She had taken you out shopping since you were upset. The small pink hedgehog had worn you out however with the dress shopping. You wished that a certain someone didn't forget.. It was your special day and you wanted to spend it with him. But you couldn't so.. Amy was your last result.

After 3 hours of Amy dragging you around, your heels ached from walking so much, atleast you weren't walking in heels however. The sky as you two exited the shopping center left was dark, the sun already down. Yet there was no sign of anyone, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, you didn't even see shadow or rouge anywhere,, What could have happened to them? Was something wrong with them? Were they avoiding you all day?

"Y/N, you alright? You seem upset still!" The pink hedgehog interrogated you, puffing her cheeks out with her hands in her hips now. "No, no, I'm fine. Just tired." You explained as you smiled towards her, laughing softly.

You two walked down towards your house considering you didn't live to far from there. "Hey Amy, did everyone else forget about today?" You asked with a hint of sadness in your voice. "Forgot what?" she questioned back, tilting her head with a concerned look. "Eh.. nothing, nevermind." You let a sad laugh out as you fell quiet, letting Amy ramble on and on about different stuff from that point on.

As you approached your comforting home, you wished for this night to be over with already, ready to just fall asleep and ignore the world for a little while. You grabbed your keys, looking over at Amy who was on her phone, then gazed back at the wooden door. You heard the small click of the door unlocking, putting your hand on the doorknob, you turned it and pushed the door open.

It was dark, all the lights were off, which was.. weird since candles usually were on when you left, which made your home smell like lavender or sometimes watermelon. You only shook it off and turned the light on, only to your surprise to see everyone standing there..

Cream, cheese, Blaze and Silver, Team Dark, the chaotics, Tails, Knuckles, all of your friends were there all besides one person, Sonic. You were a bit dissapointed without him but quickly got over it once everyone came closer towards you.

As they all told you happy birthday, you couldn't help but to smile brightly and for the first time in forever.. You didn't feel alone. "Lets go open your presents!" Amy suggested as she grabbed your hand, bringing you over the table that had presents piled up on it, all with delicate wrapping and some with cute bows on them.

After everyone had left, you noticed someone stayed behind, it was Rouge who had a smile on her face. "Rouge? What are you doing here?" You questioned her, thinking she would've been one of the first ones out.

"You still have one more present that no one besides I knew." She explained before pointing upstairs. "Someone's waiting for you." And with that last sentence, she put her hands on her hips before heading towards the door, her heels clicking against your wooden floors. "Don't keep him waiting any longer." She closed the door as she exited.

Him? Who's up there? You thought before your soft hands were placed on the railing of your stairs, holding onto them which each step you took. It took a few moments but you reached your door at the end of the hall, opening it only to see darkness again. You fumbled to find the light switch before flicking it on.

As the lights were flicked on, you saw a blue hedgehog sitting on your bed, his quills looking softer than usually along with a bright smile on his face. "You finally decided to make it!" He piped up, jumping off your bed as he walked towards you. "Happy 17th birthday, Y/N. Sorry I couldn't spend a lot of it with you. I had my own surprise I had to get ready for." He explained before gently taking your hands into his own.

"Sonic? You don't have to be sorry, but.. what are you doing here?" You asked with a confused smile on your face now before a soft pink dusted on your cheeks having your hands interlocked in his. "I wanted to make this your last surprise but.. I've been thinking about you for ages now, the only thing I can think of was you for the longest time. Manic and Sonia thought today would be a great day to say this." Was the blue heroine going to ask that question you've been dreaming of for years?

"Y/N, i believe your a sweet and amazing girl, so gorgeous and overall.. Just perfect. With that out of the way, would you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked before he was pulling into a hug by you, joy overwhelming you now, you couldn't believe this was happening over 3+ years of knowing each other. "Of course.. Id love you be yours!" You kept your arms around him but more so pulled yourself away, gazing into his eyes with your heated face getting more red.

When he smiled, he showed his fangs, his smile one you haven't seen from him before, that was til he pulled you closer, his soft lips being pressed against yours. You became more shocked before kissing him back, a soft chuckle coming from him as he pulled away. "I love you, Y/N."

"..I love you too Sonic.."
