Minho slowly fluttered his eyes opens, wincing at a sudden pain on his stomach. When he came to it, he was surrounded by officers, red and blue lights flashing outside the building. From the looks of it, it was morning by now.

"Officer Lee! Are you alright?" "When did you get here?" "What did J look like!"

The last question caught his attention, why did they ask me that? He slowly sat up with the help of the officers, looking down. Thats when he saw his shirt was lifted up, and a small J was carved into his skin on his hip, the blood was already dried.

"You son of a bitch.."

————

"How many times do I have to say this, I couldn't see his face."

Minho sat at his desk as the chief and a couple other officers stood in front of it. Changbin, one of his colleagues, sighed. "Not any minor details?" "No."

"Did he reveal anything about himself?" "No, the only thing was he already knew who I was. Now could you all leave me alone, im trying to work on this case."

With a couple sighs and grumbles, everyone left his office. Minho resumed looking over the stack of files related to J. He opened the file of CEO han, revealing the covered up cases of murder and assault. Just like the video.. guessing he paid money for the police to stay quiet.

As he looked through the files, he finally saw a pattern. Every one of his victims had a criminal history, like tax fraud, murder, assault, robbery, you name it. Minho ruffled his hair aggressively in confusion, "this makes no sense!"

————

Minho laid in bed wide awake, staring at his ceiling. The only thing on his mind was J. He was so determined to catch this criminal it gave him a headache. He mentally punched himself for letting him slip away so easily, he was right on top of him- literally.

It was a couple days after his first meeting with the infamous J, and he hasn't been the same since. He lacked sleep from repeatedly reading through every case J was associated with.

J was different from all the other felons he caught; he was sneaky. The only pattern he found to his ruthless killings was his victims weren't all rays of sunshine. He killed them differently, jumped from place to place, partners with someone or doesn't, nothing about J was organized. Thats why no officer has been able to get a lead on him, he always had a different plan.

He closed his eyes to try to get some sleep, until a buzzing sound echoed throughout his bedroom. He slowly sat up as looked over at his phone, "unknown caller ID" appearing on his screen.

He reached over and picked up the phone, "Hello?"

"Hey baby~"

Minho immediately realized who it was, sitting straight up in bed as he gripped his phone.

"J."

"Awww you recognized me by my voice? How sweet of you officer~"

"What do you want? How did you get this number?"

"How I got it isn't important right now. I think you would care more about the man tied to a chair behind me, right? Meet me at the bellair mansion in 10 minutes, see you there Minho~"

Before he could respond, J already hung up. Minho knew he wasn't bluffing about his potentially next victim so he jumped out of bed. Quickly put on some jeans and a black shirt, sprinting out of the house.

————

He pulled up in front of the said mansion, noticing the gate and front door were wide open. He made his way through the dark mansion in complete silence until he heard a muffled scream coming from the backyard.

He sprinted to where he heard the screaming, revealing a man tied up in a chair, his crying muffled from the tape over his mouth. There were lifting weights attached to the legs of the chair, which was balancing on the edge of the pool. He noticed the rope that held the chair leading to a pole it was wrapped around, a knife centered above it. What kind of contraption is this??

"Officer! You finally made it!" A voice said from somewhere in the house. He bolted back inside, noticing a blueish light coming from the living room. when he walked in, the TV and lights were on, playing a video as a man sat on the couch.

The video gave him instant flashbacks to the one of Mr. Han, since the man in the video was doing something very similar. "What the fuck.."

The man on the couch stood up, turning to face Minho. He had jet black hair, chubby cheeks that reminded minho of a squirrel, plump heart-shaped lips, a slim body shape, and just a little bit shorter than Minho.

Minho furrowed his eyebrows as the man approached him, " Is that the same man thats outside right now, J?"

"Bingo! Youre so smart officer!"

J said enthusiastically as he fiddled with a remote in his hands. "Why are you doing this." "Isn't it obvious? Do you see what this guy did?" He said somewhat dumbfounded, pointing to the TV.

"I meant in general, why are you murdering them? These videos are enough evidence to turn them in!" J's smile dropped, scoffing as he looked out the window at the man dangling over the pool. "You just dont get it do you." Minho's serious expression faltered, somewhat confused.

"You want me to just turn them in? These monsters dont deserve life, dont you think?" J said as he held out the remote to minho. "Sending them to jail and letting them out on bail is pointless! I think you officers are the real monsters here for letting things like that happen."

Minho stayed quiet, listening to his words. He was conflicted, he couldn't help but kinda agree with J. Since he was a kid, he always believed in justice and doing the right thing, making sure the bad guys get what they deserved. But recently, the powerful people who tend to be the worst behind the scenes, always get away with bribes and money.

As he was lost in thought, J placed the remote in his hand and turning him towards the window. He stood behind him as he snaked his arms around his waist, whispering in his ear, "Go on officer, finish the job."

Minho looked back and forth between the gruesome video and the man seconds away from meeting his end. This man definitely deserved to die or rot behind bars, but his inner officer was screaming at him to not do it, to not click the button. But his body was acting on its own, his own vision of justice clouding his thoughts.
