"She's all I ever need
To fall in love again
I knew it from the very start"

Sarah could not contain her excitement. "Come on Dee I want to get there already." Dee walked into the living room laughing as she saw Sarah bouncing around. "The concert doesn't start for another 2 hours and that is the support acts" Sarah didn't care she just needed to get to the venue, pick up the tickets and soak up the atmosphere. "Dee pllleeassseeee" she begged. Her friend just laughed as she was dragged towards the front door.
Westlife were in town and Sarah had been a fan since the lads walked on stage as support for Boyzone back in 1998. She fell in love with the band as soon as she laid eyes on them, and one member in particular was the main object of her affections. Shane. He was gorgeous, those hazel eyes amazed her and his voice melted her heart. Sadly he was married to Gillian so she knew she had no chance with him although the newspapers were filled with stories saying they were to divorce after Shane caught Gillian with another man but everyone know what the papers were like.
On the drive to the arena, Sarah took over the CD player in the car and of course there was only one choice of music. "hooowww am I supposed to leave you....." she belted out as Dee tried to concentrate on the road ahead. Let's just say Sarah wasn't the best at singing but right now she just did not care. Finally they arrived. The car had just stopped and Sarah was out and ready to go collect her tickets. Her mum had booked them last minute as a surprise and had managed to get cancelled tickets but she didn't have a clue where in the Arena they would be sitting. She got to the box office and the man behind the screen smiled at her. "Hi, I am here to pick up tickets, under the name of Davis" He handed her the envelope and grinned strangely at her. She thought it was strange "Miss I think you should open those tickets just now" Sarah looked at Dee who simply shrugged her shoulders. She carefully opened the envelope, took out the tickets and burst into tears. "What's wrong Sarah?" asked Dee. Through her sobs she finally spoke "Block HH, Row A seats 14 and 15, they are front row centre" she started crying again. Dee grinned at her "I know" Sarah looked at her friend and playfully hit her on the arm "I should have known". Suddenly the man behind the screen said "there is more" and handed her another larger envelope. Inside were 2 backstage passes. Sarah almost passed out. "Ladies if you would like to come this way please" a security officer said. Walking through the side door into the arena they could hear the guys laughing and joking around. Suddenly they were right in front of the men she had loved for years and there he was walking towards her. "ahh ladies nice to meet ya, I'm Shane but you will already know that" he shook Sarah's hand. She was frozen to the spot. "We don't bite, unless you want us to" Shane said winking at her. The girls followed him over to the other lads and they all said hello and gave the girls hugs. Sarah noticed Shane was staring at her and she blushed. "Ladies if you would like to take a seat we will get on with the sound check and we might even get you up for a song"

"Shane is totally checking you out look at him" whispered Dee "I can't I will just melt on the spot" Sarah laughed. Sadly a member of the crew came over and said it was time for the lads to go, Sarah was gutted but at the same time happy as a dream came true for her. "I wish my other dream could come true" she thought to herself. The guys said their goodbyes and vanished behind the stage" They went outside to wait for the concert to start. Soon enough they were back in the hall. Taking their seats, Sarah sat there deep in thought and didn't give much attention to the support acts. "What's wrong" asked Dee. "It's nothing really just me wishing I had someone special in my life" The lights went down and the music started. Minutes later Westlife were once more right there. They spent the next few songs dancing and singing along having a great time. The lads gave them little smiles and winks but Shane never paid them any attention.

"How you doing Glasgow" Shane shouted through his mic. The crowd went wild. "This isn't something we would normally do but there is someone in the crowd I would like to bring onto the stage for a special surprise, Sarah I can see you come on up here please" He pointed at Sarah, whose face was bright red. The security led her up on to the stage and she walked into the centre. She could see Dee smiling and taking pictures. Shane took her hand and sat her on a stool. The other lads stood in the background and the song started. "This isn't goodbye, even as I watch you leave" Her favourite song, What Makes a Man. Looking at Shane as he sang to her, she could feel the tears well up in her eyes. The chorus hit and she was in tears. Smiling and crying, she couldn't believe he was singing this to her, it was as if he meant every word he was singing" Once the song was over he gave her a hug and whispered "I want to see you again, please come to the hotel afterwards" he led her off the stage and whispered into the security guards ear, he nodded. As Sarah took her seat she was shaking. The rest of the show was a blur. As the lights went up in the arena she told Dee "I am not going home just now, will you be ok going home alone?" Dee looked at her confused "what do you mean" she asked. "He asked me to meet him at his hotel" just then a crew member came over to escort her backstage again. He led her to an awaiting car. She got in and realised it was just her and Shane.
He took her hand. He there uttered the words she had been waiting to hear "I want you" He moved towards her, his lips close to hers and she pulled away. "We can't, you are married". He looked at her confused "don't you read the papers? You think I am still married? I am divorced and have been for a few months now, the papers only got hold of the story in the last few weeks. I am a single man and I know what I want, and that is you. From the moment you walked into that arena, I could see you were nervous but the way you looked at me I could feel a connection" She looked at his finger, no wedding ring. She looked back to him and he hadn't taken his eyes off her. "Sod it" she said and lunged at Shane, kissing him passionately. He moaned into the kiss. The heat between them was intense. Shane broke the kiss as the car came to a stop at the hotel. The driver had the sense to take them round the back entrance away from the awaiting fans. They got out the car and entered the building using the service lift. At his floor, he took her by the hand and led her to his room. Once inside he looked at her "I don't expect anything from you tonight, I just want to kiss you and get to know you better. Gillian really hurt me. I have not really told anyone this so you should sit down" Sitting on the bed, Shane was pacing around the room "I had been away with the band for 3 weeks to Asia. Every time I called Gillian she was either too busy to talk or she wouldn't answer. I found it really strange, I didn't tell the guys straight away in case I was getting the wrong idea. I asked Louis if I could go home early, he was the only one I told at this point. I didn't tell her I was on the way home and Louis told me he would explain to the lads what was going on" He sighed. "I got to the house and it was in darkness. I crept up the stairs and I could hear voices. As I got closer I could make out a man's voice and I recognised it. I stormed into the room to find Gillian having sex with a guy we knew from school. She just laughed, she didn't care. Not one of them gave a damn, she said that didn't love me anymore but wanted my money. I hadn't signed a pre-nup as I had known her all my life pretty much and thought I could trust her. She got the house and £3 million" Shane broke down in tears, Sarah moved to him. "Don't cry Shane, she is not worth your tears. You are a beautiful, caring man. You deserve to be loved by someone who understands you and wants you for you" Shane looked at her "I know you are not ready for a relationship Shane, you need time to heal from the damage she has caused. I am not what you need right now. Believe me when I say this Shane, when the time is right and we are meant to be together well fate will bring us back together. Right now I need to go." She kissed him gently and wiped away his tears. "Goodbye Shane" With that she walked out the room and went home.
