Chapter 18

"Don't come any closer!" Cole yells, holding me behind him.

"That's sweet but I can handle myself," I said, looking at the body, "Peg is that you?"

"Of course it's me!" The body yells and hugs me to death.

"Peg. Can't. Breathe!" I said, trying to talk.

"Oh, sorry." She said, letting me go.

"You know her?" Cole asks, looking at me.

"She works with Clutch." I said, smiling at Peg, "Speaking of Clutch, where is he by the way?"

"Follow me, I'll show you." Peg said, smiling.

We walk to the front of ballroom into to a somewhat throne room. "Before we go on let me call the others." I said, turning on ear piece, "Hey guys, in a throne room in front of the ballroom Clutch is there."

"Why do you need to see him?" Peg asked, looking at me.

"We need to ask about some information on a field guild my mother made." I said, turning off my ear piece.

"Okay but once you're finished enjoy the party," She said, then pointed to a man in black jacket, "There he is right there. Clutch, your foster daughter is here."

The man turned and looked at me. He smiled gently. He came and hugged me and said, "Its so glad to see you."

"It's so glad to see you to Clutch," I said, smiling and hugged him back.

"You came cause you need information on the book, huh?" He asked, looking at me and Cole.

"Yeah, you see my best friend of my mine has my family and I don't want them to die." I said, softly and looking at the ground.

"What?!" Cole yelled, looking at me, "The mystery person is your best friend?!"

"Yeah," I said, looking at him, "But back to the book, she can't get it and I need it unlock its powers."

"The powers you need time, my young flower." Clutch said, looking at me with sad and worried eyes, "I tried unlocking its secrets before you were this age but, no dice."

"May be you need someone with a magical powers," I said, looking at Clutch, "My mother told me that I can 'see the unseen' whatever that means."

"Well try and unlocking the powers," He said, opening the book to a random page, "Remember these words and close your eyes."

I took a deep breathe and said the words as my eyes were closed.

****Meanwhile....****

"Master?" Lucinda asked, wearing a dark cloak.

"Yes, Lucinda, My student?" A voice asked, coming into a the light.

When the voice came into the light, The Overlord was standing there, his claws together.

"I have something to make "new guests" join our side." Lucinda said, having the Great Devorer in her hands.

"Ah, good..." He said, smiling mischievous, as he turned around to three people behind him, "Now our guest will talk."

He took the Great Devorer's poison and blood, and said, "I hope you like your old life, Garamadon."

"I never did!" Garamadon yelled, looking at The Overlord, as the blood and poison was injected.
