It's been nine years since my dad died and the murder of Benzo. On that night Ekko ended up finding me in a tunnel in the morning. We decided to look at the damage that happened. We seen the bodies of Mylo and Claggor crushed by the roof. Mylo was impaled and Claggors head was bashed in.
We seen the monkey that did all the damage. I inspected it and seen that the gemstone was still intact. I took the stone without saying anything to Ekko. We went outside to see Vander. We were a turn away before we seen my dads lifeless body. We took that turn and I just stopped once I seen his body. It brought me so much pain to look at him. But I did seem to take notice that something was in his pocket. I went over to him and took what was in his pocket. It was a black box I stuffed it in my pocket.
Me and Ekko decided to find a safe haven for people and help them. In those nine years that's exactly what happened.
I'm currently a lieutenant of the Firelight's and Ekko is our leader. Our members are Scar the hybrid. Petra our newbie that looks like Vi. James and Jessie, me and ekko calls them idiots and a whole lot more. We celebrated my birthday last week so now I'm 24. I somehow got something really close to one of my past birthdays. A black shirt and Cargo pants that look like Vi's. I was sitting by the tree, waiting for the mission and staring at all of the people we lost espically my person. Vander. And then I zoned out.
"You wanted to see me, Professor?" "Come in, Jayce. Can you believe it? Our city is about to turn 200 years old. A bicentennial." "It's shaping up to be an amazing Progress Day." "Stanwick Padidly"? Huh, I don't know much about him." "Everything he built either exploded, melted, or toppled over. And yet, here he stands. Stanwick set his personal ambitions aside and focused on something far more important. Our future. He realized nothing he could accomplish could compare to the contributions of his students." "I had no idea." "That was his sacrifice. A dear friend. The Council has recommended you give the Progress Day speech this year." "What... But you always give that speech. I... I could never take your place." "I agree with them. Your Hexgates have done wonders for our city. Brought scholars from distant lands. Reignited passions in arts and science. You deserve this honor." "I... I will do my best to make Piltover proud, Professor"
"It's short notice, I know, but perhaps there's something in the lab you might be able to share? People love a grand reveal." "Viktor and I have just the thing. The next chapter of Hextech. Come to the lab this afternoon, I'll show you." "I'll look forward to it. You certainly have something to live up to, my boy."I keep having these memories or skits. When I zone out. I believe they're moments in time. This guys name Jayce Talis owned the apartment that I broke into 9 years ago with...
"Five. You ready?" "Been ready." I told Ekko. "You cant keep staring at them. Its not gonna bring them back." Ekko told me. "Yea I know. Its hard you know I just miss my dad and her." I told him. I looked over at him. He looks more like a man, now, but I still get flashbacks all the time from when we laugh.
He used to be so clumsy, tripping over his clunky shoes, looking up at me with forced square smiless everytime I caught him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. He's always spill two seconds later, though, and then spout out some compliment or blackmail to try to get out of a scolding. He was a fool, but he was smart. Still is. He would always gave me suspicious looks when im with Vi. He would talk to me about her and it just made me love her even more then I started to tell him everything and anything about Vi. He would try to get me to confess to Vi but I couldnt do it.
"I cant." I mumbled, looking back at there faces. I heard him sigh and then sit next to me. "I know you miss them. Your gonna have to let them go. Now come on we have a mission to do." I got up and we walked over to the group.
