"Araohi?" Badi Ma called out, "Aarohi?"
"chor do Swarna, wo nahi aayengi" Dadi mumbled to her.
"Par maji w-" Swarna stopped as she heard the gates open.
Entering his home, Kairav found his whole family waiting for his arrival, except Aarohi, and he didn't blame her at all. She must've faced a lot of humiliation after her second Shaadi ended and so, as usual, she has locked herself up in her room to drown amongst her textbooks, typical Aarohi behaviour. He'll make sure to catch her when she comes out for her 100th coffee cup at midnight.
"Hey bro, toh kaisa raha pehle din office pe?" Vansh asked walking up to him.
Kairav sighed, "Hectic. Pata hi nahi chala kab time gaya" he answered.
'Aur bol jhoot,' Kairav told his mind, 'waise... quicksand mein gira hoon, matlab doobna toh hoga, thori toh izzat bachalu'
"Pata tha" Vansh responded, "is liye aaj Akshu ki bajay main cook ki..." Vansh's smiled vanshied, "MERI KACHORI!! MAIN BHOOL GAYA" he ran into the kitchen leaving everyone laughing.
"Bahut kam karwaya?" Dadi worried and followed Vansh, "main abhi aayi mirchi le kar Kairav"
"Are, Dadi? iski zaroorat nahi hai!" Kairav told her but she didn't budge. He turned to his Bade mumma who gave him a tight hug.
"aur agar acha nahi bhi gaya hoga na, toh bhi koi baat nahi," she came out of the hug and looked to him, "Koi impress karne ki zaroorat nahi hai".
Kairav's smile weakened a little, she rose her eyebrows waiting for an response.
He let out an exhale, "kaise pata aapko" he lowered his head.
She smirked and held his elbow, making him follow her to the couch and sit beside her.
"Jab tu aur teri dimaag aapas mai ladte ho, toh tu zyada blink karta hai Kairav. Ainvayi nahi tumhi paahla," She leaned back on the couch adjusting her sari.
"Acha? main aisa karta hu?" he asked going into thought once more.
Swarna looked to Kairav and nudge his head to snap him out again, "Aur bhi hai, but a magician doesn't tell all his secrets" she joked, making Kairav laugh, "toh bata, hua kya?"
Kairav also leaned back on the couch, "ek bada syapa hua"
Swarna leaned closer to hear him.
Kairav quickly recounted everything that happened to his Badi ma.
Swarna shook her head with a big goofy smile spread making her cheeks bigger, "beta tu bura phaas gaya"
"wohi toh" Kairav frowned.
"But I don't think you should worry"
"Kyu"
"Kyuki, tum toh product manager ho na? matlab ki yeh tumhari problem itna nahi hai jitna finance ki head, wo, Maya, ki hai. Problem solved ho gaya, woh move on karengi, tu bhi move on kar aur teri job kar. Sirf ek hi jhooth bola, itna bhi maat soch baachu" Swarna reassured him and shook his shoulder with her hand.
Kairav laughed and shook his head hearing her words, "ek main hi hoon jise aap aise baat kar sakti ho, iss liye tum pura chance leti ho na khool ke bol ne ki?" he asked.
Swara looked to him, "aise ke raha hai jaise main ek pinjre main khed hoon"
Kairav didn't say anything, just shrugged.
"Kairav beta yahan aa mai nazar utarti hoon" Dadi came out of the kitchen.
Swarna instantly straightened up and stood, "Ma ji, main karti hoon"
"yeh le," Dadi handled the smoking concoction to Badi Ma who circled his body with the smoke.
"Waise, Vansh Kahan reh gaya?"
Dadi sighed and whispered, "Kachori order kar raha hai, uski jal gayi iss liye, batana maat maine yeh kaha"
Both Dadi and Kairav giggled.
