The next day, I woke up next to Jayson. My eyes fluttered open and I smelled the familiar scent of lavender and mint. I rolled over and cupped Jay's cheek. He was so handsome. I thumbed the corner of his lips but he stayed asleep. I leaned forward and gave him a small peck on the cheek. My cheeks flushed as his eyes fluttered open. He felt that. Crap.

"Hey," Jay ran his fingers softly across my cheek, "Good morning." My face turned red. His hands were so soft.

"G-good morning," I replied shyly. I sat up and took a good look at Jayson. Why did I think he was so handsome? I stood up and walked into the bathroom.

"So, um," Jayson started, "do you wanna get coffee before school again?"

"Uh, sure," Why was he talking to me through the bathroom door? Isn't that weird? I left the bathroom, took one good look at Jay, and walked into my room, accidentally closing the door in his face... oops. But why was he trying to follow me into my room?

A while later, Jayson and I were driving to Le Café Gay, I started to really like this place. I looked over at him, bright as ever. I imagined myself driving him places. We would go to California, or maybe Alaska... ooh! Hawaii, that sounds fun. I wonder what our kids would look like.

I blinked several times at what I just thought.

Not a bad idea. I thought deeper about names and freckles before Jay's sweet voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"We're here," he smiled and I nodded, undoing my seatbelt and getting out of the car. I closed the door in sync with Jayson and we walked into the coffee shop.

"What do you want to order?" Jay asked me as we found our place in line. I looked at him, then the glass door to the shop swung open and in stepped Rayon and Reese. My stomach fell to the floor and any appetite I had was surely gone. I quickly looked away. Jay took note of this and spoke up.

"He'll get an Oreo cookie shake to go please." The lady nodded and strutted away. Jayson turned to me and gently took my hand, "Let's go find a seat." I looked at him and walked by his side. Rayon and Reese followed. I tried not to look back. We settled for a booth next to a window. Jayson and Rayon sat down across from each other, both at the window, and Reese and I sat next to each of our partners (well- Jayson wasn't my "partner" but it would be hella nice!).

"It's really sunny out." Rayon said, trying to make conversation. I nodded and stared into my lap, daydreaming. Jayson put his head down on the table and turned his head to look out the window of our booth. It was quiet for a while. I was convinced Ray was text flirting with Reese, Jay was probably asleep by now, and I was well on my way there too.

"Wakey wakey, here's your order." The waitress chirped. She looked at Rayon and Jayson, then looked at me and Reese. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a kid's meal toy. Then she handed it to me and smiled. Afterward, she turned to Rayon and Jason.

"You two have beautiful children," She smiled and strode away. Jayson was full-red and Rayon was trying not to laugh.

"Get me out of here," Jay started, "I wake up to this?!" He slammed his head on the table and groaned. Reese laughed along and stood up to go sit next to Rayon. They cuddled as I mentally gagged. I looked at the toy to distract myself. It was a wedding Barbie figure. I'm not a girl but I really liked Barbie.

I put the toy in my hoodie pocket and stood up, moving out of the booth. Jayson went under the table out of the booth and led me out of the café. As we walked, my mind was running.

Goodness, he is amazingly cute. My right brain thought.

Shut up, don't you like Rayon?? My left brain thought.

They went at it back and forth before my heart shut them up.

Can't I like both of them?

"Hey, Kyle?" Jayson's soft voice snapped me out of my organ argument.

"Yes?" I uttered.

"You wanna come back here after school? Just me and you?" I blushed hard. Was he asking me out??

"O-okay," I whispered. Jay smiled and hugged me. My cheeks lit on fire.

"Hey!" Rayon and Reese ran up behind us, "you two left us behind!" Jay turned around as his brother arrived at us. I never looked back. I hunched my shoulders and stared at the ground as Jay and Ray talked (I kinda like the rhyming names).

"Kyle?" Another voice sounded next to me. I looked up. It was Reese.
"Yes?" I nervously asked.

"I have a question," Reese grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the boys.

"Are you alright?" I stared at her.

"Y-yeah," I looked up ahead at Rayon and Jayson who stopped walking.

"Okay," Reese nodded, "let me know if you want to talk. I want to be friends with you, you're really sweet," I smiled.

"Thank you," Reese smiled back.

"Alright, let's get back to the boys," I nodded and we dashed up to catch up with the boys.

I think I made a new friend.
