As I opened my eyes, I saw a bright blue sea stretching out before me. When I turned around, I saw Thomas, the tall man my father had chosen for me to marry. I had to admit he was handsome but was not the one I loved. Standing on the cliff by the sea in my white dress was the moment I realized I never wanted to marry him. I only agreed to an arranged marriage so my father could be happy, never once did I think about my happiness. The dress I stood in had made me feel like royalty. It was a ballgown, the ends lined with the most intricate lace I could have ever imagined. It was thin but had designs such as flowers and bells. The top was made of silk and had small jewels around the waistline, it felt like a beautiful belt made of diamonds. It was like a fantasy. In addition to the beautiful gown, I had a small tiara with a lace veil attached to the end. I had already been standing before the officiate and Thomas, I had given my rose bouquet to my maid of honor, Eleanor, but we called her Ela. The ring bearer had followed behind me and held a small woven pillow that held the rings. It was time to bestow the rings upon each other. They were made of silver and were quite simple yet elegant. Thomas' was just a simple silver loop with my name engraved on the top. Mine was a silver hoop as well but it was lined with small diamonds. It was nothing too fancy and I was glad, I despised having large rings on my hands. As I turned to reach for Thomas' ring, I lost my balance and stumbled to the ground. Everyone in the audience gasped. I wasn't sure why, but the cliff had no fence to protect anyone from falling. I had landed on my hands and knees when Ela had reached her hand out to help me up. I grasped her hand but instead of helping me up she hauled me over to the edge of the rocky surface. I tried pulling away, but it was too late, I was already falling towards the sea. I could not yell; I was frozen in fear and shock. How could my best friend do this to me? This was the worst day of my life; I was getting married to a man that I didn't love, and my best friend just murdered me. I thought of it as a rescue since now I wouldn't have to marry but out of everyone, why Ela? My closest friend. How far had the sea been? I just kept falling and falling.

Someone started violently shaking me yelling at me to wake up. It was Daphne, she was my second closest friend. We hung out all the time in high school until she moved away to live with her mother in France. There she opened her own bakery with the help of her mom and a few friends. Her business was going great, so I bought her a plane ticket to Hawaii so she could come to the wedding. She even volunteered to make out cake instead of letting us spend so much money. I was extremely happy and thankful that I got to see her after so long, even though it was a wedding. I was supposed to pick her up from the airport, but she beat me to it, she showed up at my house. I have no idea how she got in, but I hadn't really cared.

"Get up you're gonna be late!" I turned to face my alarm clock; it was 8:30 am. How could I have possibly missed my alarm? I never missed it. And I couldn't miss it because I had a hairstylist waiting for me. We rushed into the car, and while I drove Daphne messaged the stylist. We arrived soon after and I took a seat in a chair as the stylist began to arrange my hair in certain ways. While I sat there patiently Daphne stayed with me, I began telling her about my strange dream. She reassured me that nothing would happen and that everything would be fine, but I still had a bad feeling about it all. What would happen after I married Thomas? Would I be a housewife? Maybe I'd be ignored? There were too many possible, I was afraid, not of marriage but of what comes along after. By the time the kind lady was finished with my hair it was tied into a loose bun with small braids peeking out of it. All that was left was to get into my dress and get married. Daphne had gone to the kitchen to decorate the cake she had baked while the stylist was busy. Since she left, I asked Ela to help me get into my dress. It was identical to the one in my dream, lined with lace and a jewel belt.
