We just arrived at the prison gates. Rick told us while we were all walking back, that he and his group were staying at a prison. I was surprised that they were able to find such a wonderful structure to keep themselves safe.

Rick talked about his group; they're strong people. All of them. He told us each member of his group's name, and some of their characteristics. They all seem very strong.

~~~~~~
As we approach the gates, I hear talking and movement from the inside walls. I stand back, next to Tyler, as the gates swing open. I peek in and see people. Real, alive, living, people; surviving together. I smile up at Tyler, who seems just as amazed as I was.
"Welcome." Rick gestures twards the building and people. "Carl, why don't you show Skai around. Oh, and show her where she'll be staying too."
"Ugh." Was all Carl said back before he began walking to the big building. I quickly followed.
It was beginning to get awkward as we were walking around the prison. Neither one of us had said anything yet. So I decided to break the silence.
"So Uh, Carl. Right?"
"Uh huh."
"Um, so, how old are you?"
"14."
"Cool, me too." I smiled, even though he wasn't looking my direction. As I was about to say something else, someone walked in. I saw a pretty, young girl walk in; she was probably no older than 18. She was holding a little baby girl. I smiled brightly at them.
"Hi there!" She greeted.
"Hello." I said, still looking at the adorable baby.
She giggled, "This is Judy. Or, Judith is her full name. Isn't she just the cutest thing?"
"She sure is." I said looking up and smiling at the girl.
"I'm Beth."
"Nice to meet you, Beth, I'm Skai." She just smiled.
I watched as Carl stepped over to Beth and held out his arms. Beth giggled and handed Judith over to him. He smiled down at her and rocked her gently back and forth.
"Well, it was nice meetin' ya, Skai!" Beth walked over to me and gave me a quick hug. I was surprised, but hugged back. We pulled apart and Beth walked off.
I turned back to Carl and Judith. Judy was giggling as Carl tickled her. He laughed lightly and smile. I just kinda stood there awkwardly as they were being cute.
I eventually spoke up, "So where's her mom?" Carl looked up with sad eyes, that turned into dark ones. I bit my lip and shifted on my feet before he answered.
"Dead."
"I-" Before I had time to finish my sentence, Carl interrupted.
"She's not just dead, I killed her." He looked down. Then looked up, he stared right into my eyes; a cold dead stare. I blinked and as i stared back. I suddenly got the chills.
I looked down to the ground, and when I looked up, Carl was gone. I looked around confused. I heard a crashing sound, followed by a babies cry. I quickly followed the cry. It led me to a cell; inside the cell was a small baby crate and a bunk-bed. I stepped inside the cell and saw Carl holding a crying Judith. He looked up at me and glared before speaking.
"Take her would you?"
"Sure." I walked over to the two, and grabbed Judith from him. I held her to my side and cooed. I swayed back and forth, trying to calm the scared, startled baby.
Carl bent over and picked up what he dropped earlier. He threw it on the bed and shuffled around trying to find something. He walked over to a chair in the corner of the cell, and picked up a brown paper bag. On the bag it said 'JUDITH' in sharpy marker. Carl opened the bag and pulled out a can of baby food. He flipped the cap off and rummedged around for a spoon.
When he found one, he plopped it in the can and set it on the bed as he walked up to me, taking Judith from my arms and sitting on the bottom bunk with her in his lap. He picked up the baby food and spooned some into her mouth.
~~~~~~~~~

After about 20 minutes, Judith was fed, changed, and sleeping peacfully in her crib; on the far side of the cell.

Carl spoke, "Okay let's go blondey." He walked out of the cell, turning on his heel to the right and walking quickly down the big hall.

"I have a name ya know!" I yelled after him, running out of the cell following him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're walking down a long darkish hallway filled with empty cells. Well not empty. They each hold a walker, lying flat on the cold, hard floor. I cringe as we walk past the smelly, slowly decaying creatures.
"Where are we going?" I ask shivering.
"To your cell." He stops and stands in front of a cell at the end of the hallway.
"What?! Down here? With these dead walkers, stinking up the place?!"
"Hey, no one smells too great these days, so hush up and get in."
"You have got to be kidding me!" I shout back.
"Nope, I'm not kidding, now, get. In." He grinds his teeth.
"Omfg! Asshole." I roll my eyes as I step into the cold, dark cell.
"Watch your language blondey, or you'll be sleeping outside!" Carl yells.
"Gosh, fine. Sorry." I hold up my hands surrendering to him.
And with that. He slammed the cell door shut, and walked off, leaving me there, in that cold, dark cell for the rest of the night.
