~🎀~The universe is practically trying to gift wrap Kim Taehyung and deliver him as a special present made just for Jimin, every single star aligning as his mother tells him that they’ll be going away for a week on a trip. Apparently, his father had surprised her with it, falling on their twenty five year anniversary, leaving the house empty for Jimin to do with as he pleases.
He wishes he’s made more headway on seducing Taehyung, but there’s only so many skimpy bathing suits he can order online. He’s been buying sunscreen weekly to keep up with all the time he’s exposed outside. It’s getting ridiculous.
So Taehyung will just have to put up or shut up — either he gets with the program and spends a week railing Jimin like they both want, or Jimin is done trying to convince him altogether, resigning to having wasted so much of his summer on a man who won’t satisfy him.
But, Jimin’s not ready to throw in the towel yet.
Jimin heads outside when the sun is still out, but only just. The heatwave they’ve been having lately has made it so difficult to try and lure Taehyung in during the day because it’s so unbearably hot, but it’s not nearly as bad later in the evening.
He swims, the twinkling fairy lights coming on overhead as the sun sets. He looks towards Taehyung’s backyard, waiting; hoping so badly that he’ll give in.
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, the light on Taehyung’s back porch flicks on, and the man is emerging from his home. He approaches the fence, leaning against it.
“What are you doing out here so late?”
Jimin swims towards the edge of the pool that’s closest to Taehyung, lifting himself up so he can kneel at the lip of the pool. He shakes his hair out, thighs spread, sitting pretty.
“My parents are gone on an anniversary trip,” Jimin replies, eyeing Taehyung, “they’re gone for a week, so I’ve got the house to myself.”
“I know,” Taehyung says, voice low. “So that means you go swimming at ten pm?”
“It means I knew it would get your attention,” Jimin shrugs.
“Your dad asked me to keep an eye on you while they were away,” Taehyung mutters, which shouldn’t make Jimin laugh, but—
“Did you tell him you’ve been doing that every day already?” He teases, earning a prolonged sigh from Taehyung. Softer, trying to seem nonchalant, he asks, “did you wanna join me? I was going to get a beer.”
Taehyung looks very obviously unsure.
He pouts, “unless you wanted me to drink alone. I could fall in the pool by accident and drown. Or— or, I could call one of my friends to join me out here—”
“Maybe you should call someone your own age.”
“Well they don’t impress me much,” Jimin teases, raising up a bit on his knees, “boys my age don’t please me well.”
“And you think a forty year old man is the solution?”
“I haven’t been disappointed yet,” Jimin shrugs, cocking an eyebrow.
