I watched as the empty casket was lowered into the earth, the wood was as dark as the fresh soil. The wind whipped my hair across my face, biting my skin like needles. Today was wrong to be so beautiful. My father loved days like these. Empty blue skies and the vibrant sun, a chilling breeze. It was as if the world was saying its last goodbyes to him. I only wished I had that chance before he died.
I refused to believe his death was an accident. There was something far more sinister hiding beneath whatever waves he drowned in, and I swore, no matter the cost, I would find the truth.
