Chapter 9

You watched with horror from atop a roof alongside the turtles, April, Casey and Splinter
As the city you had sworn to protect was being destroyed before your very eyes.
"What do we do now?" Mikey asked, his eyes glistening as Donnie wrapped his arm around His brothers shoulder
"I fear we lost. The Kraang are too powerful" Splinter spoke gazing down in defeat
Leo slumped down to his knees grief-stricken and stared at the photo.
You watched him with your (E/C) orbs fighting back tears, moving your gaze to April's horrified face wrapping an arm around her shoulder and squeezing it gently, she looked up to you with surprise then leaned into your embrace squeezing her eyes shut, grief clouding her features,
Mikey finally broke the silence
"Maybe we could change the future some other way?"
"Guys, it's time to face facts we can't change the future." Casey sighed taking off his mask and revealing his teary eyes
"Says Who?" Mikey retorted
"Says the grandfather paradox, says physical determinism, says the space-time continuum!"
Donnie exclaimed turning to his brother "look, I didn't want it to be true, but...science"
"That's it Donnies wrong"
Leo yelled jumping up
"The worlds ending, yet the barbs continue"
Donnie crossed his arms glaring at Leo.
"Don't you remember we already did change the future. Raph never got kidnapped and turned into a Kraang zombie in your time. Right, Casey?"
Leo smiled pointing at the boy
"No, he didn't" Casey gasped in revelation, Your mouth curved into a soft smile meeting Leo's eyes as he continued
"That means we did change the future! We're just in a different..."
"Bifurcated time branch" Donnie jumped in
"Yes, yes, yes that nerd thing! You know what that means, right? We still have hope!" Leo grinned his eyes sparkling with optimism
"A ninja's greatest weapon" Casey smiled
"Hey, I like that!" Leo smirked, then sighed
"Look, I'm done thinking I have all the answers I don't know how to beat the Kraang, but I do know our future isn't written until we write it as a team. So what do we got?"
"Maybe... maybe we don't have to beat them. Can't we just send them back to the prison dimension?"
April suggested
"That's an idea! Donnie, what do those big, beautiful eyebrows have to say?"
Leo turned to his Brother
"If we got control of their ship, we could send it back through the portal"

"Yes! Yes! Now we're cooking. Who else?"
Casey added, "If someone on the ground can get to that key..."
"We can close the doorway!" You smiled finishing his sentence
"And then bye-bye Kraang forever, baby!" Mikey exclaimed excitedly
"Exactly. What do you say, Donnie? You ready to fly a spaceship?" Leo smirked
"Literally the greatest question I have ever been asked," Donnie said making you let out a chuckle
"All right, team, we have a plan. Let's go save the world." Leo declared
"Wait, but what about Raph?" Mikey asked, despair crossed over everyone's faces until Leo finally spoke
"That big jerk may be covered in goo and half alien, but he's still our brother, and I'm not giving up on him. I'm not leaving him behind." Taking out his Katanas Leo turned back towards the Technodrome determination evident on his face.

"I wish My tech was working!" Donnie complained as You, Donnie, Mikey and Leo Climbed onto the rubble, up to the Technodrome
"Yeah, me too don" you mumbled you had been using Donnie's jet pack to help you walk long distances due to your injury, up until the city's power went out, your leg was still sore but nothing you couldn't handle.
You all leapt down onto the ship. Leo then used his Katana to slice an opening and you all fell inside getting covered in green goo
"Eugh. Hey, question, is it too late to join April's team?" Donnie shook off the slime with a disgusted face
"Shhhh" You and Leo hushed, You both turned towards each other, your eyes locking into a deep gaze until... "ahem" Donnie cleared his throat making you both look away from each other, faces flushing bright red.
"You three figure out how to hijack this ship" Leo explained, his face cooling down
"I'm gonna find Raph."
he started walking away
"Promise not to be too reckless Leon"
you called after him
"Uhhhmm"
"Leonardo." you said sternly
"Okay! Okay!.... I promise. See ya later!" he smiled then walked off leaving the three of you to your task.

"So how do we hack this thing?" Mikey asked looking over to you and Donnie
"Best, guess, main console? Unfortunately, it's ocupado" Donnie says as a shadow looms over the three of you. You look back seeing a giant tentacle, your eyes widen in terror, it comes crashing down towards the three of you rapidly, knocking you down to the ground. pain sears through your leg as it hits the concrete roughly, you raise your gaze slowly to see a tiny Kraang his head shielded with armor scowling at you
Mikey suddenly exclaims
"Uh, new plan. RUN!!!"
