A Skipper's Love Story

' Hi Beth, how have you been?' y/n muttered with gritted teeth, trying not to be rude as she didn't want to make the other girls uncomfortable. This only made Leah more mad as why was y/n even entertaining this girl, she'd heard from Less that y/n didn't like her so why was she being nice, Leah thought to herself, getting angrier and angrier as the seconds ticked on.

'Yeah good, good thanks gorgeous, better now I'm back with you' Beth added on the end with a wink and a raise of her glass to y/n. As y/n just wanted to make sure all of the girls were comfortable she returned the wink and smiled as she raised her glass towards Beth.

As the two girls continued the small talk on catching up over the last few months, as y/n thought it would be easier to do it at the start of the night so she could spend the rest with Leah. Leah got more and more angry, sipping her champagne and barely involved in the conversation she was sharing with the other girls at the table, constantly shooting looks at y/n next to her, visibly flirting with the girl sat across from her, trying to hold back the urge not to grab her face and kiss her, showing Beth that y/n is in fact taken.

As y/n had only been sipping at her drink, she was not nearly as drunk as the rest of the girls she was seated with and had become aware of how irritable Leah had become beside her, wanting to reassure Leah but also tease her, y/n used the slight tipsiness as confidence to lean over and whisper in leash ear when all the other girls were engaged in conversation. 

'Getting jealous already, are we babe?' as y/n spoke Leah began to tense up trying not to show a reaction, just sipping from her glass as she did so. 

So when Beth turned back around to y/n and began flirting with her once more, y/n noticed Leah's fist clench closed and she reacted in the first instinct that came to her mind, she slipped her hand below the table and placed a hand on Leah's thigh, squeezing it for reassurance. This caused shock waves through Leah's body, the two girls connection causing both blondes to know exactly what the other meant by this action. 

Y/n then leaned back in her chair and removed her hand from Leah's thigh, causing a look of disappointment to spread across Leah's face, however this look was quickly changed int o a smug grin she shot across the room at Beth, as y/n had used the arm that had previously been resting on Leah's leg and now had draped it across her chair, tracing circles on Leah's arm and fiddling with her hair, this caused Leah to have goosebumps surge across her body and for Beth to make a very interested look towards Leah and y/n. 

Leah loved the fact y/n had done this, it was a way to show not only Leah, reassurance but to do it slightly hidden from the other girls and for only Beth to see and kind of get the message y/n was trying to send across the table.

Y/n kept her arm there for the next hour, slowly tracing circles on Leah's arm, as they drunk more and more, laughing with all their friends seated around them, occasionally getting looks from each girl as they slowly noticed the proximity of closeness between the two potential lovers become smaller and smaller as Leah leaned into y/n's body every chance she had. 

As the girls stopped eating, every single one of them had consumed just enough drink that they were all riding the giddy wave of drunk where everything was funny and they were all having the best time. Once the plates were cleared, that familiar voice from this morning once again echoed through the room; 

'Hi girls, I am so glad you are all having such a wonderful time, it truly is great to see you all in one room together once again and seeing you're family members also enjoy this experience warms my heart and I must admit, English people can drink' as Sarina spoke echoes of laughter radiated throughout the room as not one person was sober and the vibe was impeccable. 'May I call our captain up to say a few words before we all dance till the sun comes up' Sarina finished off, raising her glass to Leah as she did so, signalling for Leah to stand to a wave of applause and start her walk to the front of the room still clutching her champagne glass.

'Hello girls, it's good to be back, surrounded by both my family, friends and so many of you're loved ones. It is a pleasure to have met so many of the families of my teammates as many know family means everything to me, so meeting yours means the world. I want to wish all my girls good luck for the camp ahead and I know every single one of you will bring us to the win we deserve, you're effort on and off the pitch is incredible and I know that being supported by both friends and family will give us the edge in this tournament to come out on top.' Leah spoke with such confidence, it was almost impossible to tell she was a bottle of champagne down during this speech, y/n loved listening to Leah speak with such passion, it caused a massive grin to spread across her face as she listened closely to the skipper talking in front of her, as did everyone in the room. 'Let us raise a glass to Sarina, the squad and all the people who have supported us along our journeys so far, I know certain people in this room are going to make it a summer I will never forget' Leah finished off the speech making eye contact with y/n, winking across the room causing y/n to blush and look down as she didn't want the girls to notice.

An echo of applause scattered throughout the room before everyone lifted their glass and began clinking them together. 'Now let's get this party started....I expect a rendition of 'rag doll' from you tonight Rach' Leah finished off, before an eruption of laughter and the music resumed as Leah left the front to rejoin the girl who was quickly becoming her favourite person. 

'That was an amazing speech Le, you almost defiantly deserve that dance now' y/n whispered in Leah's ear as she sat down.

'Oh do I now.... well you've been flirting with another girl all night so what makes you think YOU deserve to dance with me? I am the captain after all, I've got to please everyone' Leah added on with a smug giggle, knowing very well that she was dancing with y/n tonight and only y/n but wished to make her work for it as she had made her sit through an evenings of flirting, despite the consistence reassurance y/n gave Leah she still didn't like to see it.

Y/n caught onto this straight away and replied with an even more sarcastic reply than Leah's original comment ' I guess I will just ask Beth to dance with me then, I'm sure she's dying to get her hands all over me'

This caused Leah to physically react, showing her disgust by even the mention of another girls hands over y/n, despite this the alcohol had allowed Leah to stay calm and simply return back: 'well if that's what you wish baby, be my guest' ushering her hands towards Beth as she did so.

'I've had enough of this' y/n replied, instantly grabbing Leah's hand and leading her to the dance floor.

Their bodies began to move in-synch and it was as if no one else was around, Leah's hands moving up and down y/n's body as y/n edged closer sliding her hands up Leah's neck and into the back of her, grabbing on slightly causing Leah to bite her lip.

'You have no idea what you do to me' Leah spoke softly in y/n's ear.

'Oh yes I do' responded y/n, before pulling Leah in closer, their lips almost touched before y/n quickly pulled her head away and whispered once more into Leah's ear: 'you aren't getting me that easy captain, this may be lioness territory but I still have you exactly where I want to gorgeous.'

This caused Leah to smirk at y/n, knowing for the first time in her life she didn't have the upper hand, what was this girl doing to her. She didn't have the answers but for the first time Leah loved the lack of control she had. Y/n had riddled her mind, body and soul, and Leah absolutely loved it.

Sorry for the wait, I really enjoyed writing this chapter, but I am going to be splitting the party into two as theres so much more to come.
