 ((A/N; Hey guys! I was originally making this as a gift for a friend, so there will be some modifications to fine tune [Y/N] to be just a little more like that friend. Other than that, [Y/N] will be their own character. I'm keeping the reader nonbinary, so they're not gender specific. I haven't really seen that much Mr. Compress content, but he's such a good character! That's kinda what gave me the idea to make this fanfiction. I have a lot of really good ideas for this story and the backstory for [Y/N] has been a plot line that I've been DYING to use. I've never been so excited to write a story before, let alone a backstory. I also made a playlist for Mr. Compress simps, so I might attach that to this. Anyways, I hope that you guys like this fanfiction! Happy reading!))

{???'s POV}

The sound of music blared in the distance. The staff were moving around at practically a mile a minute. The stage crew were focused, so much so that they barely even noticed who was around them. I was basically juggling a clipboard, pen and coffee, having to switch what was in what hand every once in a while. I quickly found my way to our star's trailer.

"Ms. Yusei, you have 5 minutes until you have to be out there," I said, knocking on the door. No response, as always. I used to think that my job was so cool. I mean, being famous j-pop artist Aki Yusei? The beloved Satoru? She used to be one of the sweetest girls out there. She actually cared about her fans, made time for her family and friends, always showed her gratitude for me and was never too difficult to work for. But recently, there's been some controversy involving her. There was a rumor going around that she was the one that had attempted to murder the j-pop idol who goes by the stage name of Satomi. The former fans have found my social media accounts and have been giving me hate, saying stuff about me possibly giving her the ideas to murder Satomi. Since these are just rumors and there's been no evidence of her actually being involved with it though, there hasn't been any legal action.

Once the previous group, DYS, was off of the stage, the lights dimmed and were prepared for Yusei's big entrance. "Where is she?" Danu's voice asked in my headset. "It's showtime." I knocked on the trailer door once more.

"Ms. Yusei, it's time, are you ready?" I asked. Still, there was no answer. "Ms. Yusei!" I pressed the small button on my earpiece. "She's giving no response." While everyone else seemed angry with her, I felt rather worried. She was normally always on time and has never missed a show in her life before. The lights in the trailer were still on and nobody had seen her leave. At this point, I was banging on the door. "Yusei, open the door!" Even though I wasn't permitted to open the door, I reached down to the door knob on instinct and opened the door. What I saw before me was horrifying. On the floor, lay Yusei. Dead. Blood pooled around her body. Her clothes had various tears. She had both of her hands resting almost perfectly on the stomach, as if she had been placed there by another person. I stepped back, feeling the blood drain from my face. She was murdered. And no one was there to keep it from happening.

{Tomura Shigaraki's POV}

"Looks like this star's 15 seconds of fame is over," I read aloud. On the screen, there was a picture of the famous singer, Aki Yusei, dead on the floor of her trailer, a knife still stuck perfectly in her chest.

"Whatcha looking at, Shiggy?" Toga asked. She basically hopped over and rested her elbow on my shoulder.

"Get off of me, you brat." She then stood up straight.

"Jeez, sorry handy-man."

"It's the social media post that was posted by [Preferred username] this morning," I explained. "This guy's been at it for a few months now. The police still haven't found him."

"Shigaraki, did you just assume their gender?" Dabi asked. I rolled my eyes and ignored him.

"Everytime their account gets taken down, they just make a new one. Eventually, Instantgram had to stop taking the account down so authorities could attempt to track down this villain."

"So, there's a chance that they're going to get caught anyway?" Toga asked. "We can't have them join the league?"

"Well, sorta. The authorities are rather slow with this, because there's been a pattern with who is being murdered. Every single person this guy has killed has wronged another person. If the person who has been wronged is innocent, that person remains alive, but if the person who has been wronged also wronged the first victim, they will get murdered as well, leading to a post with two pictures attached and a caption that includes only emojis. This one seems to follow that."

"Wow, they actually have quite a few posts," Dabi said, scrolling through the photos. "Some videos too. Oh jeez, are they actual murder footage?"

"Ooh, let me see!" Toga exclaimed as if she just heard gossip.

"So, this is who murdered the pro hero Mal-B? Impressive."

"Aww, heroes look so cute when they bleed!"

"Yeah, they murdered a pro hero that could kill them easily," I replied. "That's why I want them to join the league. I'll kill that 'Gentle Criminal' if he gets to them first."

"Tomura Shigaraki, do you really think that killing him would be the best option?" Kurogiri asked, looking up from the glass he was cleaning. "And I doubt he would want them on his team, he just doesn't seem like the murder type." I clenched my fists.

"It's not just that," I started. "He has more subscribers on YouTube than me! And I'm a literal gamer! What does he do? Commit crimes? How has his channel not been taken down by now?"

"Well, maybe it's because he doesn't rage quit every. Single. Game," Dabi added.

"Hey, I don't do that every single time," I shot back.

"You do when you say, 'Oh, yeah, I'll finish Security Breach'," Toga added.

"Don't even get me started on that damn game! I can't get past that wolf! But anyways, really, what crimes have we been committing lately? We haven't been eliminating the heroes, we're basically just the characters in animated, fictional movies with talking animals! Like Bad Guys or something! We need to get back to what we were doing before. And what better way to do that than to get someone who can murder easily?"

"Yes, but didn't you just say that they have principles?" Sako said, finally speaking up. "So, they would need a good reason to murder, not just targeting a random kid in the mall, like you did."

"Okay, that wasn't a random kid, it was Midoriya. And true, you have a point, but think about it: Heroes only really care about themselves and their money and fame. Now, if they weren't famous, but getting paid, yeah, there would still be a good amount. However, as soon as money leaves the equation, there will only be a few left. Heroes are all to blame."

"Now everyone, I want you to find the person behind this account," I said. "I don't care what you do, just don't get caught. I can't afford to lose another villain."

"Got it!" Bubaigawa exclaimed. "Aw man, do we have to do this ourselves?"

"Anyways, I'm going to continue trying to find them. Just don't take things too far."
