Well hello there whatever readers I may have. I was excited to put this chapter up, so hope you like it...

As I packed my things in my small black book bag I looked outside. Sure enough he was there, in the backyard where my window looked out too.
I'm an only child, 10 years old, and I live in a one story house with my mommy and daddy, but they leave for work early, so I'm alone at home right now.
I don't really like walking to and from school. Mommy and daddy say it's too close to be paying for a bus to take me, so I have to walk. He's always there with me though, in the woods as I walk on the side walk.
Fixing my uniform one last time I pick up my book bag. As I walk to the door I make a grab for the keys on the dining room table as I pass by it.
Leaving the house I lock the door how daddy always said to do it, putting the key under the mat, I go down the front steps. Stepping onto the sidewalk I feel the air grow colder as he materializes next to me, I don't look at him though. He doesn't like it when I watch him. I don't know how I know I just do.
Walking silently I look around noticing that no one's really around, they never are. And when they are it's like they don't see the seven foot tall, no faced man, walking in the forest next to a little elementary girl.
It wouldn't help if they were to really see him, only once did someone ever show any sign of seeing him.
There was once a new boy in our class, when I was in second grade, he was from Transylvania. When the teacher first introduced him nothing was wrong, everything seemed fine. But when we were outside for recess he would stare into the forest with a scared look.
When I looked in the same direction all I saw was the man, where he would stay when we were in recess, as usual. But the boy kept staring, as if watching a horror movie.
When recess ended the boy asked to leave to the restroom, he never came back.
The police came to the school then, closing off the restroom where everyone said the new boy died.
I didn't understand it when it happened, I still don't. The man in the forest didn't do anything, at least I didn't see him do anything beside just standing there. But I know it was his fault, that's why I also stopped telling people that he was there.
So they wouldn't die too, if they were to actually see him, like the boy did.
Finally making it to the front of the school I meet up with my friends who were talking about how stupid Miss Karl was because she was giving us too much homework.
Looking up I see him wave at me from the woods before disappearing all together. This happens every morning, ever since mommy and daddy made me walk to and from school, but it makes me feel safer. No matter how creepy it may seem.
As I talk to my friends about upcoming birthdays the bell rings, letting us know school is about to start. All of us walk to class without much of a struggle.
When entering the classroom we take our seats next to the window. Looking out the window I notice he's not out there in the woods as per usual, he must be busy.
Paying attention to Mrs. Anderson, I forgot about the man as the bell rang, saying the class has started.
