Someone came running toward Annabeth, and Jason was about to whip out his sword when Percy put his arm up. He whispered to Jason, "It's her dad." And sure enough, he pulled her into a hug. Annabeth just stood there stricken.

"Dad? What are you do-"

Annabeth was interuppted by two boys around the age of 10 or 11. "Annabeth- Annie!" They enveloped her into a hug. "Uh- hi guys." Annabeth said quietly. "How are you here?" She asked.

"Dad thought we should go on a man vacation and see New York." One of the boys said puffing out his chest.

"Who are your new friends?" Annabeth's dad inquired.

"Oh, this is Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Hazel Levisque, Frank Zhang, Nico DiAngelo, and you know Percy."

"Wait. Did you say Zhang?" Annabeth's dad looked at me skeptically.

"Uh. Hi...sir." I answered.

"Is your mother named Emily Zhang?"

"Was" I looked down at the ground. "But yeah. Why."

"Oh. I'm sorry. I met her at the Wolfe-Montcalm Monument in Quebec years ago."

"You knew my mom?" I perked up.

"Yeah." He looked at me and furrowed his brow. "Come to think of it, she talked about you a little. She said that she was so proud of you and that you would do great things." His expression softened. "After that, we became great friends and she even wrote to me when she was in Afghanastan. I didn't know that she... I just thought she stopped writing."

"It's okay. Thanks." I said forcing a smile.

"Uh, we were just about to go to the Statue of Liberty..." I began. Annabeth was standing behind her dad's back making motions with her hands that I guess meant no. "And I.... totally forgot.... we have to feed... Sally's... cat." I shrugged my shoulders and Annabeth face palmed.

"Oh, ok. Well..." He gave Annabeth a hug. "Then I guess, see you later." His face fell as he walked away with the two little boys trailing behind him. That was when Annabeth slapped me upside the head.

"Ow! What was that for!?" I whined.

"For being a bad liar!" Her eyes were blazing. She turned away and ran towards a crowd of people. I started ahead when I felt a hand against my chest.

"Let her be." Hazel said.

Later, we all met up in Central Park because, that is where Annabeth turned up.

"Hey Wise Girl." Percy started. She embraced him and sobbed.

"Look, Annabeth. I'm really sorry. If I hadn't said anything-"

"No. It's fine, Frank. Really." She sniffed and looked me in the eye. "Just- old feelings, I guess..." Then she started to tell me the story of how she ran away from home when she was 7 because her dad hadn't wanted her as a daughter. Ever since then, the tension has been pretty bad. By the end of the explanation, it was almost 4:30. Percy looked at his watch.

"Styx!" He exclaimed. "We are supposed to be home in 15 minutes!" Being the athletic demigods that we are, we sprinted to Sally's apartment with 5 minutes to spare.

Once we were there and Sally finished scolding us for cutting it close, we found out the best news of the day; we all had tickets to go see a Broadway play called Phantom of the Opera! The girls all squealed and Percy, Leo, Jason, Nico and I were dumbfounded.

"Ugh... this means we have to pray to my mother!" Piper groaned. Suddenly, 4 dresses appeared on Sally's kitchen table and 5 suits were layed out on the couch. They both had notes that said:

Way ahead of you.

"Well that settles it!" Sally clapped her hands and ushered the girls into her bedroom. Wait, now what do we do?

"Come on." Jason said. We all went to Percy's room to get ready.

Ten minutes later, I still didn't have a clue how to tie a tie. Percy helped me and then pushed me out into the living room. We could hear giggles coming from Sally's room and we all sat on the couch and waited.

"How's my hair look, Nico?" Percy asked.

"Like it hasn't changed in 8 years." Nico retorted. Everyone laughed.

It felt like ages before the girls came out, but it was worth it. They looked stunning. Calypso came out first in a white, one sleeve, knee length dress, and Piper followed suit in a vibrant red dress that hugged her waist and then flowed down to her shins. Annabeth then followed in a strapless chiffon dress that was a solid pale pink. They all had their hair down except for Annabeth who wore it up in an extravagant bun. They all looked beautiful but I was waiting for Hazel. She finally came out, looking at her shoes and obviously embarrassed. She wore a yellow dress that went down to her ankles and a beautiful jewl necklace around her neck. She wore her curly hair up so that it framed her face. All of the other girls giggled.

"Frazel is my OTP!" Piper said squealing.

"I am not even going to ask what that is." Jason said.

"Aw... everyone is so grown up!" Sally was starting to tear up.

"Pictures!" Annabeth gasped. How could we forget about our Iris phones?

We all grouped up and took our pictures. Annabeth promised that she would text them to us later.

"Ok! Out-out." Sally persisted. And we were off.

On the walk to the theatre we all coupled up. Annabeth was explaining what the play was about to Percy, Jason was making goo-goo eyes with Piper and Calypso and Leo were whispering mischievously. Every couple has their thing. Nico was just walking in the shadows.

"So..." I said trying to break the silence.

"Wonderful pick-up line Frank." Giggled Hazel.

"Well- I-I'm not very good at this!" I said exasperated. I threw up my hands in protest. "You try!"

"Ok. Hmm... so have you ever seen a play except for this one?" She asked.

"Once." She made a hand gesture as to tell me to explain. "When I was little, my grandma took me to see Wicked. I was on a Wizard of Oz kick back in those days. What about you?" The question caught her off guard.

"Well, my mom never really took me anywhere and I spent a lot of time outside, so no. This is my first time going to the theatre. But before I, you know- died, I heard about something called Phantom of the Opera coming out." I smiled and kissed her forehead. "Love you." I mumbled. She closed her eyes. "Love you too." She hummed. "By the way, you know that Frazel is both of us together, right?"

"Sure." I lied. She could tell though. "Lets catch up with the others. I think that we are close to the theatre..."

"Can't wait!" Hazel bounced up and down, obviously excited for seeing a show for her first time. But we never did make it to that show.
