TW: school sh**ting
"Whether you believe in me or not, I will continue to exist."
"Isn't that the thing with imaginary friends? Arent you supposed to disappear if I no longer believe in you?"
He sighed, shaking his head.
"Common mistake. We disappear when you no longer need us, not because you dont believe."
"Well, I dont need you so, goodbye." I rolled my eyes and walked down the stairs to the kitchen, only to see him sitting at the kitchen table holding an apple.
"Man, I wish I could eat, I bet these are great."
"Did you not hear me? I know you did; I gave you two working ears." I snapped at him, grabbing the apple from his hand, and shoving it into my backpack. "I don't need you. You can leave. I cant be the only highschooler still with an imaginary friend."
I threw my backpack over my shoulder and slipped on my sneakers.
"I have to get to school and youre NOT coming with me."
I left the house and began my walk to school, I turned to make sure he wasnt following me, he wasnt. I smiled and turned back around and of course, there he was a few steps ahead of me, waiting.
"You dont get to decide if you need me or not." He said as I passed him, walking quickly behind me to keep up. "I have orders."
"From WHO." I sighed, glaring at him. "I literally made you up when I was five."
"I dont know if its really orders per say." He shrugged. "I just have a feeling."
"Well, I just have a feeling youre getting on my nerves." I growled.
He shrugged again. "I dont care, Im not leaving yet."
"Whatever. But I wont be talking to you, Im not getting labeled as the weird girl this time."
"Thats fine!" he said, putting his hands up and smiling. "You wont hear a peep from me!"
And he was right, I didnt. That is until lunch time rolled around and he popped up next to me.
"Dude. LEAVE."
"No Sarah, you need to get out of here. Slowly. But you need to leave. NOW."
"What the hell is wrong with you." I hissed quietly, looking around to see if anyone saw me talking to myself.
"Something bad is about to happen. You need to get out now." He shoved me, making me drop my apple I had grabbed from him that morning.
"Hey!" I said, a bit louder. "Why are you-"
Just then, I heard a door slam. All I heard was: He has a gun! before all the screaming and gunshots rang out. I covered my ears and tried to get up, I knew I had to get up, but I was frozen.
