I laughed as I fought with getting out of my Kermit the frog costume, Nena in her bathroom removing her Cinderella dress.

"So, are you taking these back to the store tomorrow," I called, adjusting my regular clothes on me.

"Yeah, I'll probably go in during the afternoon. I think I'm going to be sleeping in with how tired I am," she slightly giggled, glancing at the late hour on the clock in the living room. She had just rejoined me, running her fingers through her hair.

"Do you think Ellen will be back soon," I wondered.

"I don't know. I guess I can call her real quick." She found a cord phone before dialing, speaking for a short time before hanging up. "She's staying with Tobey and the guys, since it's so late. Would you... want to stay over here with me?" I loved the way she was swaying a little bit, and appeared nervous.

"Yeah, I can stay. Where do you want me to sleep? On the couch," I guessed.

"Or you could have my bedroom," she offered.

"Nah, I'll be fine on the couch. So, do you want to stay up a little longer, or are you going to bed?"

"Um, I think I'm going to bed. I can hardly keep my eyes open. Will you be okay by yourself?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," I promised, helping her with tucking sheets into the sofa.

"Well, goodnight," she sweetly smiled.

"Goodnight," I echoed, giving her a nice smile too before she left. I got comfortable underneath the blankets, resting my head against the pillow. I couldn't help but just stare at the wall for awhile, almost dozing off until Nena popped back into the room.

"Are you asleep?"

I shook my head after hearing her soft voice, looking up at her.

"I... I had a bad dream already. Can I sit with you until I feel better?"

"Yeah, do you want to talk about it?" I moved over, so she could get situated, her messing with her fingers.

"I dreamed I was sliding down this tunnel that led from a trash can, and a voice kept yelling to me not to go down there, and then I heard a creepy evil voice where I was going. I actually had this dream when I was a little kid, but it's been years since it's showed up again."

"Hey, it was just a dream, and next time dream me there. I'll grab you and save you." I loved how my words were cheering her up as she smiled uncontrollably.

"Thanks." She let a yawn escape before I was pulling the covers back. She got the hint and cautiously snuggled up to me, her nose pressing against my chest.

I soothingly rubbed her back until she zonked out, us staying like that for the whole night.

When I woke up I realized that Nena was gone, squinting my eye open to see her at the table right next to the kitchen.

"Hey," I greeted, scratching my head as I nearly walked over with a blanket stuck around my leg.

"Hey," she replied. "I know this isn't a healthy breakfast, but I was in the mood for something sweet." A smile crossed her lips as I saw the miniature Snickers in her hand along with a full glass of milk.

"No, I think that's what I'm going to have too. Do you have any more milk?"

"Yeah, I still have like half a gallon. Help yourself," she politely urged.
