"Here! Cross!" I yell to my older brother, Jackson. He kicks the ball across Gabe and Alex, my other two brothers, and I stop it with my foot. I do a move and get around my dad. I swing my foot back and strike the ball. It flies into the goal and slides across the back of the net.
"Goal!" Jackson yells and we chest bump.
"That's my girl, Charlie." He says patting me on the back as we jog back to mid-field.
"Well, I am pretty awesome." I reply.
"If you do say so yourself." Chimes Alex. He is 19, two years older than me.
Gabe is the youngest by seven years. I am seventeen and he is ten.
"Oh crap! I have to take Gabe to his basketball practice." My dad says.
"I'll take him." I offer.
"You sure?" He asks.
"Yeah. I have to stop by the store anyway." I reply.
"Okay. Text me when you are almost home." He says. I say goodbye and Gabe and I hurry out to the car. We play at my high school's field about two miles away so we have to drive. Luckily we drove two cars here this time. I have been able to drive for a while but now I am finally able to drive with other passengers.
We hop in the car and I pull out. I turn the radio on so we aren't in silence the whole time. I mainly focus on the road the whole time and Gabe just stares out the window. We arrive to the Bridgepoint Middle School gym in five minutes. We walk inside the main entrance and turn right. We walk straight until we reach the gym. Gabe darts out to his team and grabs a ball. I walk over to the bleachers and take a seat. Suddenly a boy, about my age, sits next to me. He has dark brown hair and peircing green eyes. His skin is tan and he has a lot of muscle.
"Hi. My name is Brandon." He says. Crap! I was staring.
"Oh hey! I'm Charlie." I reply. During the practice Brandon and I talk about sports, sports, and more sports. He plays soccer, tennis, basketball and football. I tell him how I play soccer, tennis, and basketball. He seemed impressed how strong and fit I am. I also learned that his favorite color is blue and he love the Louisville Cardinals like me.
Practice ends fast and soon enough I am in the car driving home with Gabe. The whole time Brandon is on my mind though. We are just friends though. It couldn't have been more, could it?
