After roughly 3 years, it was finally time. They were going to fight, and someone had to win.

The first line of the book that Caleb opened, he hadn't looked at the name or the back of the book to read the description, he'd just gone straight to reading. It was almost a game of his, he would take the first book in the return pile and read it. This was one of the few that caught his attention in the first line.

He was so engrossed in his book that he didn't even put it done when walking in the hallways to get to his next class, he had maths next so he had to hurry. That teacher had it out for him since day one. He hadn't done anything wrong, but that man hated him, and he had no clue as to why. Walking into Mr Ashton's class, he sat down and finally put his book down. What the book was about wasn't important, not anymore. In front if him sat the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. She had brown hair that was cut long enough to be tied up but too short for everything to stay in the ponytail. She had blue eyes and always carried a plain silver chain neckless. Today she was wearing a blue dress that reached her knees with a few floral designs and on top of that a denim jacket.

This girls name was Violet and as he got the confidence to talk to her that damned teacher walked in, that same damned glare that would make his nose scrunch up as if he smelled something bad. He wore his usual black dress pants with the white button up with the sleeves rolled up too his elbows. Caleb just knew he did that to be popular with the girls.

Mr Ashton took attendance and when they got to the actual learning part of the period, he looked at Caleb with a scowl. ''Well, Mr Holt? Have you been paying attention to my lesson?'' and before he could reply Mr Ashton quickly said, ''well how about you tell us all what I've said?'' Caleb shifted awkwardly under the classes gaze with a small grimace. In the smallest voice he could muster he told the class what he remembered, it wasnt much though because he had been staring out the window thinking about anything and everything. The teacher sneered at him, not for the first time, ''if you feel confident enough to not pay attention then you should be able to answer all my questions! Am I understood Mr Holt?'' Caleb felt his face heat up in a blush and his chest tighten. ''y-yes sir.'' He finally managed to whisper out under his cold glare.

After the long hour of maths, it was finally time for lunch, he quietly moved out of the class mushed between all the other students. He liked to feel unseen when it came to school. He left the large group that was his class and ran off to his bench outside, it was bright today so sitting outside wasnt a problem. He reached into his bag to get his phone but tensed, he could feel someone watching him. He stopped all his movements and sat still until he felt the gaze leave. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Someone sat next to him, and he froze up even more, he slowly lifted his eyes from the ground to their face and felt himself flush. In front of him sat Violet Evergreen, she looked perplexed. He sat quietly waiting for her to say something, but she didn't. ''Why are you here?'' he said, ok, so maybe that wasnt the best approach to talking to the girl youve been pining over for the past few weeks, He thought to himself. She didn't look upset by his comment, instead she just chuckled. ''Well, I noticed that you were agitated so I thought I should give you company, then I realised I didnt know you or even know your name, so I didnt know how to start.'' She ended with a chuckle again. He sat staring at her not knowing how to properly reply, but his saviour came in the form of his friend that was a grade higher than him, ''CALEB!!!'' Violet jumped and turned to the newcomer. Danny Malfoy came running to the pair. ''You will never guess what happened to me just now! Hi Vi.'' Violet gave a small laugh and nodded ''so this means you will be ok from here on out, Caleb, right?'' she asked making sure that she had heard his name properly, and she received a small nod. ''Alright, bye Caleb, bye Danny.'' She walked away from the boys laughing as she heard Dannys excited rant about what had happened in English. Caleb watched her walk away not really listening to what Danny was saying.
