A man once lived in the town, Logbourn. He was generous to people and wasn't bone idle either. His aptitude of hard work made him bear the name Amerygo.

Mr. Hayford , generally known as Amerygo, was a robust man besotted with making of shoes. He owned a shoe store, which was the source of mass produced shoes in Logbourn. In addition, he procured a vast land for orchard farming. His businesses yielded a substantial income, which brought him great joy.

Amerygo, ultimately went down with a terrible disease, which made him very weak and was unable to go about, with his routine job. He had two sons. Ransford and Kenneth were their names. These young men were imprudent and boastful about their father's achievements and possessions. Their unwillingness to work, was beyond reasoning. Their father, Mr. Hayford displeased with the behavior of his sons, did everything in his power, during the competent times of his life, to help his sons turn into a new leaf, but all efforts made by him was to no avail.

However, since their father could not work any more, his businesses were being mismanaged, because the two brothers were not proficient enough. Hence, they did not know the right approach to handle a business. The businesses started losing its known quality at a greater rate. This really frustrated the brothers, because they were unable to change the circumstances or achieve what they hoped for from the business.

Ransford and Kenneth, after going through so much difficulties, realized how slow witted they have been all along. Eventually, a fresh start began in their lives. They became responsible and hardworking. The improvement in the brothers, brought them great success due to their outstanding work ethics. Their father, who was confined in bed, due to sickness, felt elated , for his sons had become great and responsible young men. The achievements of the brothers gave them a bliss of a lifetime. And they continued to work harder.
