August 26th 2014

Looking out the window as all the trees flew past my vision, I look from the exhaustingly draining scene, my Aunt mouthing the words to some pop song. I look back out the window to be greeted with the same view I have seen for the past hour. I close my eyes letting the darkness take me over.

I feel something poke me in the cheek I scrunch my nose in disgust trying to swat at the annoying hand but miss I feel the poke again I open my eyes to be greeted with my Aunt's face extremely close to my face.

"Morning sunshine!" She screams in my ear I snare at her and take in my surroundings little houses lined up together each house seemed to have a small front yard there were a lot of trees surrounding the houses I turn around and look at my house it was a two story house with a light gray color the house. I look at my Aunt smile weakly "It's not much but it's the best I could do on short time." She said with tears brimming her eyes I wrap my arms around her and hug her and whisper "It's perfect." With that we walk inside our new house I begin to walk up the stairs when my Aunt yells from the kitchen "I'm going to get dinner together!" I just yell back okay and continue my way upstairs. I make my way to my room all of my stuff placed neatly within the room. I continue to look through the room I look out my window and see that it looks out to the city and the roofing came out just enough for me to sit on. I lose track of time sitting there when I noticed the sun was beginning to set I sigh and go back inside. "Lis!?" My Aunt yells

"Yeah?" I reply

"Dinner is done." she yells back up to me I sigh and sluggishly make my way down the stairs seating myself across from my aunt she hands me my food we eat in silence.

The doorbell rings making us both jump from the loud ringing, I spring from my chair and walk to the door and open it to be greeted with a girl my age.

"Hi!" this girl said her hair was a blondish brown color her eyes were green

"Hello?" I say confused

"My name is Basili." She said I nod my head

"Basili" I say slowly (I pronounced it Baz-el) the girl laughed

"No its pronounced bas-ill. Are you British?" she asks me with a laugh I just nod my head

"My name is Licia but I go by Lis" I say with a small smile she laughed.

"You know there's a party tonight at my friends house if you wanna go" she says I shook my head quickly "I don't really-" she cuts me off "Your going whether you want to or not!" She said while giggling I sigh in defeat then ask "What time and what should I wear?"

She begins to jump up and down while giggling I just put my hands on her shoulders trying to calm her down she calms down then says "it's a pool party and it starts at 9:00 so we have to hurry it's already 7:00." She says rushed I just nod my head and invite her in.

"Aunt Evelyn this is Basili." I introduce them Basili smiles

"Just letting you know I may be stealing this one tonight." She says with a smile my aunt laughed "Okay just make sure you guys don't get in trouble" She said in a serious tone I nod my head and bring Basili to my room she instantly goes to my closet and finds my bathing suits she picks out my black and gold bathing suit I quickly shake my head no but she thrusts the pieces of clothing into my hands and shoving me towards my bathing suit I sigh in defeat and change into the bathing suit once I'm done open the door and show Basili she claps her hands and nods her head

"Yes! this is perfect it will look really good with your reddish brown hair! And then we can put a little bit of eyeliner around your eyes to make the green really stand out!" she says excitedly.

"Well what about you?" I ask her, her face pales

"I'll be right back!" she says as she darts out the room a couple minutes she's back out of breath holding the two pieces of clothing towards me I grab them and see it's a strapless light blue top with a light blue bottom with a little bit of gold on the sides I nod my head in agreement she quickly changes into the suit.

"Are we ready?" She asks me

"Yup" I reply I look at us in the mirror Basili's wearing a floral halter top with high waist white shorts with tan sandals and I'm wearing a White halter top with light blue shorts and some white All-stars. I nod in approval Basili grabs my arm and pulls me down stairs

"Aunt Evelyn we will be back later tonight!" yell to her

"Okay be safe!" She replies I roll my eyes and walk out the door with Basili.

We get into Basili's black car "So why did you move to America?" She asks me, the question I've been hoping to avoid but I guess she would have asked me eventually

"My parents died and I need fresh start." I say with a emotionless look

"I'm so-" I cut her off

"Its fine." I say we ride the rest of the way to the party in silence with the music playing lightly in the background. She finally stops the car the sound of music blaring ringed through my ears I looked at her and smiled.

"You ready?" she asks me

"Oh, yeah." I say pulling my glasses over my eyes we both step out of the car and walk up to the door we open it and see people dancing on each other kissing in the corners and drinking. We continue our way to the pool pushing and shoving sweaty teens out of our way once we make our way to the pool we notice people on the side of the pool taking shots and people in the water playing chicken (the game where you sit on someone shoulder and try to push the other players over). I look over to see Basili stripping into her bathing suit then jumping into the pool with a splash getting the near by people wet. I laugh and stalk off back inside of the loud house I push my way through the swarms of people making my way to the kitchen to pour myself a couple drinks, once I finish my drinks I make my way back out to the pool area and stood on the outskirts of the party I sip on my drink and watch as the party unfolds.

I finish off my drink and go to get another when someone bumps into me and splashes their beer all over me I look up and see that it's a he, He had black hair and piercing blue eyes and was extremely tall.

"Watch where you're goin!" he yells at me over the music I glare at him

"You're the one who ran into me!" I yell back he looks down at me his trailing over my figure

"Do you know who I am?" He asks me with his head tilt to the side slightly

"No, I don't, and I don't want to either, you look like a pansy in a hot body" I say starting to head to the pool I strip to my bathing suit since my shirt and shorts were now drenched from his beer I feel eyes lingering on me longer than I wanted but I continued my way into the water.

"Lis!" I hear my name being called I look around looking for Basili I feel someone jump on my back I look and see Basili on my back I laugh and push her off

"Wow you finally got in and I see you have the attention of Damien." She said with a concerned voice.

"Whats wrong?" I ask concerned "He isn't a serial killer is he? He has one of those face that says "hey trust me I totally won't kill you!"

"No, No, nothing like but he's-" I cut her off

"Please don't let this be one of those cliche stories were the guy is a player bad boy and I'm suppose to be the good girl who turns him good because if so I'm leaving." I say seriously Basili stares at me and blinks then starts laughing.

"What?" I ask seriously

"Thats not it at all plus you're not a good girl anyways, what I was going to say before you cut me off was....." I glare at her

"Are you going to get on with?" I ask her with sarcasm laced in my tone of voice she rolls her eyes but continues anyways "He's the leader of the most feared gang in America." I gulp and look over and see Damien smirking at me, just peachy.
