As salt streams fell from her eyes to her ears, April thought about all the fun memories she had in the city she called home. Even with the crime happening every day, she wouldn't want to leave Los Santos.

For the last time, she let her tears fall down her face before she decided to wipe them off and got up. She scanned her room and tried to memorize every part of it and every detail of the apartment. She chuckled bitterly at the sight of the portrait hanging in the living room.

Her leader, Mr. K's name appeared on the screen of her phone. He was calling her back after she called an hour ago.

"Hey, Mr. K! It's ya gorl April," even with all the emotions, especially the sadness, she still managed to say her signature greeting with the most enthusiastic voice; the old man didn't even notice the difference.

"Hey, April. What's up?" he asked, while on the other line, he was cleaning one of his rifles. He was with the rest of the boys who went with him to try and rob the casino.

Without K's knowledge, one of the boys, Ramee, had his eyes locked on him when he heard the redhead's name, wondering why she was calling their leader, and not him. Taco and Curtis, being the insufferable instigators, watched their friend's reaction when hearing her name, slightly bumping each other's elbow.

April once again took a deep breath before telling her leader what she wanted to say after two hours of thinking and contemplating.

"Where are you now, Mr. K? If you're with the boys, can you please not tell them what we will be talking about?" she asked the old man.

Mr. K noticed the slight change in her tone; it went from being enthusiastic to almost sounding as if she was sucking up all the happiness in the world. K gestured to the boys, telling them to stay as he entered his apartment to escape their curious eyes.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" he asked his daughter, worry was evident in his voice as he was nervous about what he would hear.

"Can I talk to you in person? Just the two of us," she asked him which made the gang leader even more curious about what the redhead would tell him.

"Of course, April," he responded. "Where do I wanna meet? And when?"

"At my spot, near the pier. You know where it is, Mr. K," she said as tears started pouring again. She took deep breaths to not let her leader hear her sobs, but she was wrong, Mr. K heard every breath, every sob she made.

"I'll be right there, April. Give me 10 minutes," he said before April hung up the call. He then went out of his apartment and grabbed the rifle he just cleaned while not saying anything to the boys amidst their questions.

Mr. K hopped in his car and drove off to the location April told him. Just two possibilities came to his mind about what was happening to his daughter. He thought she might be in trouble that was why he brought his rifle, or she was being serious; she just really wanted to talk about something.

It was the latter. K arrived at the spot claimed by the redhead to be hers. He saw the bubbly April staring at the sunset, she was alone.

He parked his car and hopped out of it, which made April look in his direction because of the noise he just made. He could see her wipe her tears and try to breathe while looking far from the April he and the whole city knew. Her hair was still tied in the usual way, and her clothes are still styled in an April way, but the heart in her cheeks was gone, and some of her mascara smudged below her eyes, giving her a few dark circles, even confirming the idea to K that she was crying.

When he reached his daughter, she received the tightest hug while she sobbed on his shoulder.

This isn't the April I know. That's what's running through his mind at that moment.

When she finally calmed down, she started speaking. "Mr. K, I wanted to meet you here to give you this," she said as she reached for her Chang Gang chain's lock and successfully unlocked it. She handed him the gold chain and smiled sadly at him. "I'm leaving the city, I don't know when I'll be back, I might not come back." When he made the slight gesture to not accept the chain, she grabbed his hand and placed the chain.

"I will miss you, I will miss everyone," she continued, not gaining any response from her leader. "I promise to call you or email you. I may come back for a few visits."

He didn't respond to any of that, he was stun-locked. He couldn't believe that her favorite daughter would leave the city, leave the gang. He could still remember, even though the memory is foggy with his old age when she arrived in the city and made it clear to everyone that she wanted to join Chang Gang. He may have had doubts before but when he saw how hard April worked hard for her place in the gang, she was easily his favorite.

He felt something tap his shoulder. It was April. She was waiting for his response. This was hard for her to do. She contemplated talking to him first or just leaving without saying anything to anyone in the city, she chose the former.

"Why, April?" K finally spoke when he was out of the memory lane he was traveling to. His voice sounded disappointed and confused. He was not even looking at her, he was looking at her diamond and ruby-encrusted chain.

"My cousin called me. My dad wanted me to come home, he's sick," she lied. Her cousin didn't call her, she didn't know her father, and she was only raised by her single mother who wanted none of her.

K took a deep breath before nodding. "I won't stop you, but I couldn't accept this, April," he said as he handed her back her chain. "This is yours. Even when you're not in the city, you are still our family, you are still Chang Gang. When you come back, you still have a place here."

"But K, I am not coming back," she protested but he brushed her off.

"Gang leader's orders, April," he said as she smiled at her sadly, which left April no choice but to accept her chain back, but this time, she didn't wear it, she slid it into her pocket. "What do you want me to tell the family?" he asked after he gave his daughter a tight fatherly hug.

"Tell them what I told you, but not until tomorrow. I'll be leaving today," she responded then pointed at her pink Lexus LFA. "Please take good care of my baby. Take it out on a spin sometime, don't let it just collect dust."

He nodded, "I will, April," he paused, contemplating if he'll ask the question he had been meaning to ask. He chose to ask it, not expecting any clear response from his daughter. "What about Ramee, April?"

Her heart sank at the mention of his name-- her day one, the only man she truly loved. Ramee was one of her best friends, even after they broke up. He was still her first call in the morning and whenever she was in trouble.

"Tell him what you tell the others," she answered which made her adoptive father tilt his head, not satisfied with what she said but still didn't push her to say anything more, he just nodded.

"Can you please take me to the airport, Mr. K? My stuff is in the car already. My flight is in an hour," she told him while smiling at him sweetly, but her eyes were screaming with gloom.
