It was the day of their wedding. This union was meant to be happy. Criselda had been dreaming about this day for a long time. She was finally going to spend her life with Lilith. Two years ago, the two women confessed their love nearly at the same time. This wedding was thus the fulfilment of their passion.
But at the last minute, someone went against their wish: Gracelynn, Lilith's sister.
Criselda knows how much protective Gracelynn can be when it comes to her little sister. But she didn't expect that she could even go against Lilith's happiness.
"Why ?" Criselda simply asks, at a loss of words.
While clutching her flower bouquet, she gives Gracelynn a puzzled look.
"Lilith deserves much better," Gracelynn answers. "You're not the right person for her."
"How dare you say this in front Lilith?" Criselda replies with anger.
Given that everyone is looking in her direction, Criselda tries to keep her calm. But her anger is too strong.
Moreover, she doesn't understand why Lilith doesn't even try to reason with her sister. This is the most troubling part for Criselda.
Meanwhile, Gracelynn went to slip a few words to Lilith. As she also steals a few glances toward Criselda, the latter decides what she can't bear to have Gracelynn meddle in her relationship with Lilith anymore.
After dumping her flower bouquet on the ground, Criselda goes to the two sisters and confronts the eldest, grabbing her by the top of her dress.
"Let's make it clear," Criselda says. "Whether you like it or not, I love Lilith. This wedding is the best thing that could happen to us. It will take place, with or without your consent. Is it clear ?"
"You shouldn't be angry like this," Gracelynn advises her. "It doesn't give a nice picture of you. I can understand Lilith's concerns."
"What are you talking about?" Criselda asks, now furious.
"Look around you. Nobody reacted when I said I was against this wedding. Lilith herself didn't say anything."
Chocked, Criselda lets go of Gracelynn, looking at her with the same puzzled gaze once again.
"What did you do?" she asks. You ruined our wedding!
"I only intervened to prevent things from going the wrong way."
Criselda now enters in a state of uncontrollable rage. She grabs a chandelier, hopefully emptied from its candles, and throws it toward Gracelynn. The latter dodges it in time. But it isn't the case of the person behind her.
"Lilith!" Gracelynn says, turning toward her sister.
The latter dropped a knee on the ground, hiding her face with one hand.
After the impact, the chandelier rolled further away. A wave of murmurs rises from the guests, as each of them becomes aware of the red spot on one of the branches of the chandelier.
When Lilith uncovers her face, everyone understands what happened. Paralyzed by her own move, Criselda lets out a surprised gasp when she discovers the scar on the eye that Lilith is struggling to keep open.
"Lilith, I'm sorry..." Criselda says with a trembling voice, coming closer. "I didn't mean to hurt you..."
"Leave me alone," Lilith spits. "Gracelynn was right. You're crazy!"
These last words echo inside Criselda's mind, as she stops in her tracks, unable to react.
"I don't want to see you ever again," Lilith continues.
