I wake up to a female voice screaming. I'm tired and confused. I get up from my bed and look at my clock. 2:47 AM.
I Peek out my door and a whimper comes out, "mommy?". I hear no response. I walk down the hall and enter into my parents room. "Mommy?" I whimper out again. There is no one in the bed. The window is open. It's usually hot here in Monroe, so It's normal to keep the windows open to get a cool breeze. Then I get back into the hallway and walk down the stairs. I get down to the living room and look around. "Mommy?" I whimper for a third time. As I walk to the kitchen something catches my sight in the dark. All of our family pictures are faced down. I become tense. I look around and see nothing in the kitchen. All darkness. As I turn back around I spot something on the floor with the corner of my eye. I walk to it. It's my mom's body with a pool of blood next to it. Tears start to build up. I'm only seven years old. I get down on my knees and lay next to her. "Mommy" I whisper at last.
