Ponyboy x Steve • Outsiders Pov

First kiss

A/n:
This is after pony and Jhonny stayed at the church bc I didn't feel like writing all of that. In this Steve is like a year younger so it would work out and he never dated anyone. There will be smut/fluff later in the story. Also dally is saved when he got shot.

Ponys pov:
We only have an hour before the rumble and I'm so nervous. I went into the bathroom to cool down and look at my face "soda when did you start shaving?"

He looked into the bathroom mirror at me "when I was fifteen" so I asked "wh-when did Darry?" He looked at me weirdly "when he was thirteen, why thinking of growing a beard before the rumble?"

I walked over right next to the piano "haha really funny we should send you to readers digest!" I wanted to know why everybody liked fights, so I asked, while hearing Steve say the words forget it to throw Soda off, "Soda why do you like fights?"

"It's action like a contest or drag race!" Steve was mumbling stupid shit "we're gonna stomp those socs heads in" Steve triumphantly stated as he won the arm wrestling contest between him and sodapop.

Third person pov:
Ponyboy walked over to Darry "why do you like fights Darry?" Without skipping a beat soda answered for him "he likes to show off his muscles!" "I'm gonna show them off on you little buddy if you mouthier!" He looked concerned at Ponyboy while buckling his belt and started saying he doesn't know if Ponyboy should be in this rumble.

                              ---- 10 minutes later ------

Ponys pov:
We are in the streets as Darry is explaining that if the cops show soda and I have to make a run for it so we don't get placed in a boy's home. "AINT NOBODY GUNNA CALL THE FUZZ IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD CUZ THEY KNOW BETTER!!" He wildly exclaimed as he threw his hands up in the air, goddamn he is so hot. The only problem with me liking him is that I don't know how the gang would react and I don't think he likes me the way I like him. Not to mention he is three years older than me.

Steve's pov:
The SOCs just arrived and everyone looks really nervous including Ponyboy, and as a matter of fact he looks sick like hes gunna puke or something. Man hes fucking cute, if I told anyone I liked him they yell at me because I'm older and probably never talk to me ever again. Out of the blue I heard dally screaming from across the lot "A RUMBLE AINT A RUMBLE WITHOUT ME!" I looked back to see if they were ready to fight and got punched in the face.

Third person pov:
Everyone's getting kicked, punched, and thrown around. After twenty minutes the SOCs start running to their cars signaling the greasers won and dally grabs Ponyboy to go visit Johnny at the hospital. They got stopped by a police officer so dally lied saying hes taking pony to the hospital because he fell off his motorcycle. They got a police escort to the hospital.

Ponys pov:
When we got to the hospital we told Jhonny about winning the rumble. Jhonny had me lean on to hear what he had to say he didn't really say anything for about a second and a half "stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold." Then his head rolled to the other side and dally was crying saying "don't die on me Jhonny don't die on me now!" When he went to leave he slammed his fist into the wall like it owed him something and ran out. I had to walk home alone and I was just thinking and looked up when I was in front of my house which meant we weren't all that far from the house.

Steve's pov:
We were all at the Curtis house cleaning up our wounds when pony walked in looking like he was sick. I was worried about him like really worried "Jhonny told me to stay gold, dally couldnt take it he's gonna blow." I followed him as he backed up into the kitchen when Two-Bit started talking all of a sudden the phone started ringing so I picked it up. It was DALLY!?!? He said he wanted to talk to Darry, as he listened for a minute all I could hear was gibberish from the other end of the line.  He hung up quickly and said that dally robbed a store and would meet him there so we all rushed out of the house and to the lot. We all were not even a minute away we heard gunshots and everyone kept screaming things like 'NO DONT' and 'HES JUST A KID!' We all watched dally roll down the hill but all I had on my mind was 'are they gonna shoot us' and 'is Ponyboy doing okay after all this' when I heard a thud like someone or something fell. I looked over and saw Ponyboy on the ground we all got to the Curtis house and Two-Bit went to his place so I had to ask if I could stay the night since my dad kicked me out again.

It was late that night and I was laying on the couch when I heard someone walk down the steps so I pretended to be asleep. I opened my eyes to see Ponyboy's ass "what are ya doing down here kid?" He looked at me with a stern look "is that all you think of me as?" I was hesitant because I didn't want him to know in case he didn't like me back "N-no." He raised an eyebrow "then what do you think of me as?" I was trying to come up with a good lie but I just told him the truth. "I like you you're smart and funny" he looked me dead in the eyes which made me blush "so I'm not annoying or a tag along?" There was a pause "no I just say and act that way because I try to deny my feelings for you!" I watched him get up and was afraid he was going to tell Darry or soda or someone but was surprised when I felt him laying next to me under the blanket "I like you to Steve" I was shocked because he never really showed it. He was blushing really hard when I noticed I didn't have a shirt on I just had my unbuttoned work shirt on. I pulled his chin up and couldn't decide whether I should kiss him or not when I was interrupted with a bruised pair of lips interlocking in a passionate kiss with mine. We separated and about a minute later he spoke up "Ill just fake being sick tomorrow so we can spend time together if you're fine with taking off work?" I was down for it "yeah sure no problem."

A/n:
This took all day to think about then write and it was so difficult to write as I had to make a ton of changes. Hope you enjoy the rest!!😊
