"History of magic is upstairs, ladies, not down. Mr Davis, Mr Davis! That is the girls lavatory..... Potter."

Harry turns around to see Magonagle walking towards the trio, Harry clears his throat and walks over, as Ophelia and Ron carry on making fun of people.

"Enjoying ourselves are we?" She raises her eyebrows,

"I had a free period this morning, Professor."

"So I noticed." She clears her throat, "I would think you would want to fill it with Potions? Or is it no longer your ambition to become an Auror?"

"Well it was, but I was told I had to get an Outstanding in my O.W.L."

"So you did, when Professor Snape was teaching Potions. However Professor Slughorn is perfectly happy to welcome N.E.W.T students with 'Exceeds Expectations.'"

"Brilliant... uhm, I'll head there straight away." He looks back to Ophelia and Ron.

"Oh, good.... good and Potter, please take Weasley with you he looks far too happy over there with Miss Black, oh and will you take her too." Magonagle looks over to the two careless 6th years.

Ron groans as the trio walk to Potions, "I don't want to take Potions, there's Quidditch trials coming up. I need to practice."

————

"Attention to detail in the preparation is the prerequisite of all planning.... Ah, Harry! My boy. I was beginning to worry.... You've bought some people with us I see."

"Ron Weasley, sir. I'm dead awful at Potions so I'm probably just gonna-" He tries to walk away.

Ophelia looks over to a girl named Lavender Brown staring at Ron with a 'dreamy' smile on her face. She frowns and wonders why she would feel this was over something so small.

"Nonsense! We'll sort you and Miss Black out. Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine. Get your books out."

"Sorry sir, I haven't actually got my book yet. And nor has Ron or Ophelia."

"Don't worry, get what you want from the cupboard. Now as I was saying, I prepared some concoctions this morning-"

The trio walk over to the book cupboard, but spot only two actual books. The trio look at each other before Ron and Harry both fight for the book.

Ophelia hits the two in the arm causing them both to step back, Ophelia politely takes the book and laughs walking off. Ron does the same before hitting Harry's book with his.

"Miss Black."

Ophelia perches her head up from the floor, "Yes, Professor?"

"Would you care to tell us about Amortentia?" Slughorn invites the girl up to the cauldron.

"It's the most powerful love potion in the world, uh it's rumoured to smell differently to each person. According to what attracts them." She smiles.

Slughorn almost invites the girl to smell the potion, "Oh, uh well, I smell..... Freshly mowed grass and new parchment. and..... that's it. " she smiles and steps back to Ron and Harry with widened eyes knowing that there was something else she could smell she just didn't want to believe it.

"Now, Amortentia doesn't create actual love. That would be impossible. But it does cause powerful infatuation or obsession, and for that reason it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room." Slughorn closes the lid as, Lavender, Romilda, Katie and Pansy crowd around it.

"Uh, sir you haven't told us what's in that one." Katie Bell points over to a small glass.

"Ah, yes. What you see before you ladies and gentlemen.... Is a curios little potion, known as Felix Felicis. It is more commonly referred to as-"

"Liquid Luck." Hermione blurts out.

"Yes, Miss Granger, Liquid Luck.... Desperately tricky to make, disastrous should you get it wrong... One sip and you will find that all of your endeavours succeed, at least until the affects wear off. So, this is what I offer each of you today. One tiny vial of Liquid Luck to the student who in the hour that remains, manages to brew an acceptable draught of living death. Recipes for which can be found on page ten of your books. I should point out however only one student who manages to brew a potion of sufficient quality to claim this prize, never the less good luck to you all."

The quartet walk over to the Potions table and start making the Liquid Luck, Ophelia almost blows up her Potion. She puts her hand to her mouth as Ron laughs at the girl.

Slug horn places Harry's Liquid Luck in the cauldron, "Merlin's Beard it is perfect! So perfect I dare say one drop would kill us all!"

"So here we are then, as promised, one vial of Felix Felicis. Congratulations. Use it well,"

The crowd claps as Ophelia looks over to Hermione's frizzy hair as the girl claps with a frown on her face.
