River's POV
One movement. That's all it would take for my eyes to flicker and the grass to whistle "run..!" Running. My way of dealing with it all. The sweeping wind beating against your face making your eyes water, making your soul sing. I gently curled the stubby digits of my paw around a stray twig and peeked out into the clearing. Taynan was lying in the sun (as usual). The older wolf's hazel orbs sparkled at the clouds as the swirling wind combed the scruff of his neck and his snout. My plans of lolloping towards him hid amongst my other unsuccessful ideas and I, instead, sat curling my tail around my body. I watched him for a while before the hushing wind took me under its wing and lulled me into a gentle sleep.
The leaves on the trees blurred, their cosy colours colliding into a kaleidoscope of dreams. The voices of the seasons were my lullaby allowing my ears to soften at the woodland's song.
Taynan's POV
The sky takes every feeling to it's height. I brings instinct and senses to life. However, sometimes just sky-gazing is enough. Just to know that each perfect fluffy cloud holds bitter cold rain makes them to seem alive almost animal. Each cloud is individual. Each wolf in the pack is individual. River, the dreamer, Alim, the born leader, Kian, the peace maker and me the deep thinker. The others , they're also are their own wolf. The clouds i'm looking at now. their shapes shall never be the same again but they are in the same sky as every other cloud. Just how we wolves are under the same sky. I smiled at the clouds and closed my eyes content and weary.
River's POV
"AWOOOOOOO! Oh yeah, come and get me loser!" I sprinted away following the wind. Sleeping is such a drag what's the daytime for if you're just going to wait for the hunt. Stop. Taynan's snarling...why is he...wait...No!
Taynan POV
What was that. My nose flared but I could not smell anything. I can see her. She is not allowed on my land. Willow has betrayed this pack too many times how dare a member of her pack grace this earth again. I growled despite myself, My vision blurred with anger as my claws tore the dried mud away I focused in on this unrecognisable wolf and began to run,
River POV
In my cub like game I had forgotten his past. I slid on the ground turning to run towards him. I had to tell him it was ok. I had to prove I was not like her. Willow is not family. No. This pack is my life now. I sped towards Taynan stumbling over my own heals on the way. The closer I got the lower he growled. No. He didn't think I was leaving...he couldn't...how could he think I was her...that I was Willow. I whimpered to try and bring him back to focus but Taynan just increased speed. My only chance was to flee.
Taynan POV
Whimper that's right. You should fear this land. You should fear my name. Oh, it;s too late to flee traitor . I pushed my heals downward and spread out into the air aiming for the other Alpha's visible pulse. As I brought her to the ground with me my eyes caught the other wolf's. Willow didn't have one grey eye. The only wolf with an eye like that was... my mouth went dry as River whimpered her ears flat against her temple twitching in fear ever few seconds. My power surge had not only wasted my energy for the hunt but had brought down a member of my own pack.
I tilted my head towards the muddled clouds and let out the emergency howl.
Rivers POV
It's alright River. You're not like her. The same blood is nothing. The same blood that's now spilling down my neck staining the single white splodge on my grey coat. I stared at the sky and the many clouds. "please don't let me go...not now...not yet."
(To Be Coninued if it works)
