Mahira's POV
Hearing noise from downstairs, I got up from my bed and checked the clock to see it was one in the morning.
I picked my slippers from under the bed. Just in case. They sure won't be helpful but the person at the other end doesn't need to know that.
Maybe I should join Defence. That way my intelligence will be of some use and the respect I will get, will definitely be of another level.
Setting my thoughts aside, I walked out of the room and descended the stairs, trying not to make noise.
Should've eaten something before coming down here. Atleast my soul would have been satisfied after death.
I saw a figure standing at the main door, about to walk out.
Think, Mahira think.
Oh right! Slippers!!
Nobody can run away from stealing things from this house under my watch.
Before the person could take one more step, I threw the slipper in his direction.
It hit the person directly on the head taking him off guard and slipping.
He held the slipper stuck in his hoodie.
I hope he doesn't take my slipper and run away with it as well.
I ran towards him and slapped his face, while he was laying on the ground, half in and out of the door.
If this wasn't a serious situation I would've laughed so bad.
By the way, is it pronounced as situation or sichuation?
Well never mind.Coming back to the reality, I could now see him as the street lights were illuminating his face.
Ya Allah!!
Why is my faith going so bad?
It could have been an actual robber, I wouldn't have been so scared, I was just about to offer the poor guy some water. I felt bad for hitting him so hard.
But now, looking at Arsalan , I couldn't feel anything, so without giving myself another thought, I made a dash towards the exit, not before pushing him down again.
Papa is gonna have a heart attack if he found out I left the house, alone in the middle of the night. But I am sure by now Arsalan is on his two feet and running in the same direction as mine, so it doesn't count.
At least I had the courtesy to scream "Sorry".
That wouldn't help me, but whatever.
I ran as fast as I could, not caring that I was only wearing my nightsuit in this cold weather.
Not to forget with only one slipper on.
