HOUSE PARTY /// Jeremiah Fischer

FIRST GLANCE

I put on my dress for this house party my mother was having. Just her friends and family. When I say family I mean extended family. Like great-great aunts and all of my cousins. My mother did this every year. I mean like, the same month the same day. June 29. Everything the exact same way as it was every year before.

My mom came into my room.
"Hey y/n. You ready yet?"
"No mom. Just a minute—."
I said as I finished the last curl on my hair.

"Wow. You look beautiful!"
"Thanks! You too mom."
She smiles at me and kisses my head.
"Oh crap! I need to do my makeup!!"
"Oh don't worry you have about a half an hour or so."
My eyes widened as I got straight to work.

I smiled to myself. I actually kinda looked good. I walked down stairs and about 18 people were already there. Before I can get a good look at who's even there, I feel my grandmother wrap her arms around my waist.
"Hi Mimi!" I say as I kiss her head.
"I'm tellin' you Teresa, shes is such a beautiful girl!"
She says as she steps back to look at me.
She smiles as she sneaks a silver necklace with a diamond heart on it.
I look down to see that huge diamond resting on my bare neck.
"Mimi! Oh my goodness! This must have costed a fortune! I can't except."
"Oh come on you never let me spoil you. please!!"
I smile at her.
"Uh it's so beautiful! Thank you so so much!!"
I hug her tight and thank her about...I can't even count how many times.

"y/n! Remember Jeremiah and Conrad?" My mom asks me.
"Oh yeah! You're best friends with their mom? Right?"
"Yes! But you and them were very good friends. You guys would play all day together. I would have to beg— you to come home!"
"Oh yeah! Now I remember!"
"Good because Jeremiah is here!"
Before I could say anything my mom dragged me to backyard near the white roses our gardener had planted a month or two ago.
"Jere! Here's our y/n!" A blonde woman said next to him.
"Hi Jeremiah!"
He looks at me up and down and smiles.
"Hi y/n it's been so long how are you?"
"I'm good how are you?"
"Good."
Running out of ideas to say I just blurt out,
"Where's Conrad?"
"Oh football camp."
"How is he?"
"He's good- I'm sorry that necklace is beautiful! Is that a diamond?!"
"Yes. My grandmother bought it for me!" I smile at his face.
"Jesus. How rich are you?" We both laugh.
I looked into his eyes. Wow so blue.
I get knocked out of my thoughts as my best friend Claire shouts at me,
"OMG Y/N THE CRAZIEST THING JUST HAPPENED- Oh my god I'm sorry nice to meet you I'm Claire!" She says quickly as she grabs my hand and runs off with me laughing.
