First day back at school. Great. I thought to my self. School has never exactly been my 'thing'. It was everyone else's thing but mine. My friends, the 3 of them (not including me), all thought school was great. Great friends, great school, great people, great teachers and everything. Well, I agree on the friend side of things but, that's it.

I turn on my phone. 7:45 am. School should be starting soon. I get all of my things out of my locker. I looked at my timetable. First English, then math, then science. This is gonna take forever! I thought to my self at the sight of those words.

I turn around to see Vanessa standing there.
"Oh hey!" I said quickly.

"Hey Lyla. What do you have?"
"Ummm... English, Math then Science. You?" I replied. Only to make small talk.
"History, Math then English. Wanna go and sit down?" She said. Vanessa hates standing. But, standing in a shopping line is perfectly fine. If you need help with fashion, go to Vanessa. Me, Nicki and Sandra call her the fashion police.

"Yeah sure." I quickly said. "So, what's been happening, since yesterday?" I replied because I hate sitting in silence all the time.
"Not much. Oh but, Dylan finally asked me out! We're going to the movies tomorrow night. Oh, that reminds me, can you cover me for tomorrow night? I'm not telling mum and dad and I need someone to cover. Can you say that you're going to the movies with me tomorrow night?" She makes these puppy dog eyes every time she's desperate. She doesn't even know it. I give in.

"Yeah sure but, if you're parents ask my parents, I'm not explaining anything. Understand?" I said knowing that Vanessa always stuffs things up.

"Hey. There's Nicki. I'll be right back. I've gotta tell her about my great news!"
"Mmhmm. Go right ahead. Congrats by the way. On the boyfriend, of course." I said with a grin.
She smiled and went up on her tippy toes and ran off to Nicki.

I walked off to English, but took the long way, through the oval, when I saw this figure come out of the trees. I picked up the pace, and headed straight for English, no detours. The figure started running after me. So, I started running. I dropped my books on the ground and ran, as fast as I could. I took a glimpse behind me. He's gone? I stood there, looking into the distance. But, where could it have gone? It was right there a second a go. I turned back around to head back to English, without my books. I wasn't going back. No way.

"Shit!" He was standing right in front of me? The figure I saw was a man? Some freak? Running as fast as the fastest guy in the world? This doesn't make any sense.

"Oh hey!" The man spoke.
"Hi?" This is awkward. I thought to my self. Pulling a weird face, without me even knowing it.
"Wow. What's with your face? Humans are so weird!" He said.

"Umm, and you're not human? You look pretty human to me." I said turning around to grab my books. "Oh god." And there he was again. Standing right in front of me. "How'd you get there?" I questioned him. "Umm, I walked? You don't do that?" He said, making sure I noted the sarcasm. "Well, no. Wait. How'd you get there so fast?" I said, making weird head movements as I said it. "Oh that, yeah. Hard to explain. Just give me a minute, would ya?" This guy is a nut case.

He got down on his knees and leaned into me hip.
"Ahhhh!! What the hell are you doing? Oh god! Shit!! Why the hell did you just bit me?!"

"The bite? Oh! The bite! Right. The bite is a gift. Use it wisely. When 3 days pass, come find me. And also, don't tell anyone about the bite, or me as a matter of fact." He turned around to walk away.

"Woah woah woah! Wait a second big guy. You just bit me, the bite is bigger than your jaw itself. I mean, you tell me to meet you in 3 days? I don't even know you're name, for a start, or where to meet you, and you just bit me!" I said, basically yelling. He turned around, and looked at me directly in the eyes.

"The names Carter and, trust me, you'll know where to meet me. Just listen. You'll here me from a mile away. Literally. Remember, 3 days and don't tell anyone. Anyone, Lyla. And if you tell anyone, anyone at all, there will be consequences." Then he left. Just like that. "Carter! How do you even know me?!"

No reply. Of course. How could he even hear me? He was long gone. How'd he even run so fast?

I took a glance at my bite. It was a big one, that's for sure.

A/N:
Here's chapter 1 and it's an epic fail. Sorry about the first few paragraphs in particular. I wrote this whole plan thing and I didn't know how to start so, yeah. Hope you liked it 🌚
Some feed back is highly appreciated as I don't exactly know how to write yet.
