After school yesterday, and the bite, I wasn't myself. I took a glimpse at the bite, that was covered up in a patch. A bit of blood but nothing much. I took off the patch. That's ok. Marks are nearly gone. Wait, what? Nearly gone? This isn't right. There's meant to be teeth marks all over my hip.
I rub my eyes and glance back at the bite, to make sure I'm seeing right. Yep, bites nearly gone.

The bites a gift. Use it wisely. I say in my head, as I replay the whole thing with Carter. If the bites a gift then, was it actually him that bit me? I think to myself.

I turn on my laptop and search:
'Werewolf powers', the first thing that pops up with my head after reading all of those werewolf books and watching Teen Wolf.
I click on on the first website that comes up.
'Basic werewolf powers include the following:
- fast healing
- sensitive hearing
- great eyesight
- ability to run super fast
- has the ability to turn into a werewolf anytime, especially on full moons'

I stare at the laptop screen, dumbfounded. Carter was running super fast. Is he a werewolf? But, this type of stuff is only meant to be in books and TV shows and movies. They aren't meant to be real. This is all made up. I need to get out of this nightmare and get to reality? I pinch myself several times to try to wake myself up. No. Nothing. I must be awake. This is might be reality now.
I look at my bite again, to make sure that it had actually started healing. Same as the first, second, and third time now, it is healing.

I walk into the school gates, walking up the ramp and walking to my, unfortunately, small locker. Vanessa is getting her stuff out of her locker as I walked past her. She seems really chirpy. This is different. "What's got you in a happy mood this morning?" I say, my curiosity getting the best of me. "Not much. Just the fact that me and Dylan are going out tonight!" She jumps around in a circle, her blonde straight hair, flinging around her neck as she stops, facing me.
"You're still okay to cover for me tonight. Right?" She asked, making puppy dog eyes again. "Oh yeah. Right. Totally. I forgot about that but, yeah, I'm still all good for it." I replied, as I looked her directly into her eyes.
She squealed then says, "yay! Oh my gosh! You have know idea how much this means to me! You are literally the best friend ever!" Then squeezes me tightly.

I turn around to the direction of my locker, and walk towards it, still worried about the bite. I get to my locker. 24 3 12 and pull. I say in my head as I unlock the lock. The blue metal of my locker is cold on my hands, colder than usual. Is this another affect of the bite? No, the website said no. So, probably not.

I put my bag in my locker, pull out my books for the morning, and decide not to take the long way, after what happened yesterday. And also because I don't want to see Carter, ever again. Well, at least until my 2 days are up.

I turn around to see Vanessa, standing right in front of me.
"Oh wow! Geez, Vanessa, don't scare me like that." I said, maybe a little too harshly.
"Oh sorry, Lyla. What's gotten in to you? You're usually not this freaked out about me standing here." She said, not wanting it to sound harsh. But it did. "Oh sorry. I don't really feel well. And I haven't really been myself lately. Stuff at home, and other things. I shouldn't take it out on you. Sorry, again." I was looking at my locker why I was telling her this. I didn't look at her once. "It's okay. Wanna walk to class together?" She said, looking at my timetable, making sure we were heading in the same direction. "Yeah sure. Why not," I said smiling. "At least Carter won't get in my way." I said under my breath, hoping Vanessa wouldn't hear.
"What was that?" She questioned me. "What was what?" Not wanting her to find out what I said, but knowing that she probably already knew. "You said 'at least Carter won't get in my way'. Who's Carter?" Now what do I say? Do I tell her the truth? But Carter said not to tell anyone what so ever. "Oh, no one. Don't worry about it. Let's go" I said with a grin.

We started walking and someone called out our names.
"Lyla! Vanessa! Wait up!" It was Sandy.
"Oh hey Sandy. What's up?" Vanessa asked. Sandy doesn't usually call out to us from ages away.
"Oh nothing. I just wanted to walk with you guys." This is out of whack. Me and Vanessa shot a look at each other before turning around to Sandy. Yep. It was Sandy.
"But, you never walk with us." I said, looking at Vanessa before looking at Sandy.
"Why? Is there a problem? I can go away if you want." Sandy said, looking at both of us. "Oh no, Sandy. There's no problem what so ever. Just, a bit out of the ordinary. That's all." I said, shooting another look at Vanessa. "Okay great." She said, squishing in between me and Vanessa, her ginger hair flowing over her shoulders.

We walked to Vanessa's class then me and Sandy continued to walk to my class. We turned around a corner, in complete silence when she said "thank gosh she's gone." This is unexpected. Sandy never says this. "Why's that?" I turned to look at her. "So I can" then her voice changed into a mans voice. "shape shift back to myself." I was way too confused for this. "So you ca- what the hell?! Carter?!"
