The sun was up and the sun rays woke up Jebi. She rubbed her eyes and slightly opened her eyes to see what time it was. It was currently 8 a.m. Today she had a plan with her friends to go to the mountains for an adventurous trip. It would be more apt to say that they were going for camping. They would stay there for 2 nights and 3 days and return the 3rd day. They were currently having their vacations from college after their examinations. Jebi lazily got up from the bed and went to do her daily morning routine. Well let's have her introduction. So Jebi is a young adult, around 19 years old. She is in her college, studying business. She is an ordinary girl with many ambitions. Yet she is an introverted and a straightforward girl. She did not like unnecessary attention. She never tried socialising with the outside world. Even she never tried making new friends in her middle and high school and now in her college. She only had Daisy, Johan, Felix and Sully as her only and best friends. However she was not always this way until that devastating night.
It was her 8th birthday when she was continuously requesting her parents to get her a huge teddy bear as her birthday gift. After her parents went out to buy her gift, she was alone in the house with her caretaker Mrs. Yun. She slept while waiting for her parents to return with her gift. Mrs. Yun was very worried for them as it was midnight but they didn't return. Soon she received a phone call from the police saying that a couple was found dead in this car along with a bloody teddy bear. As Jebi was very young, she did not understand what was going on. She only knew that her parents have gone to visit the God who will send the teddy bear for Jebi. I mean what else would be told to an 8 year old kid who is so immature? Eventually she understood everything and kept on blaming herself for her parents death. All her so called relatives left her side but Mrs. Yun never did. She took care of her as if she was her own daughter. When Jebi was in this trauma, Mrs. Yun always motivated her and took her out of that depression. Jebi also respected her as a mother and always found that motherly warmth in her. Mrs. Yun raised her well and since her parents had left a lot of money, she could afford all her expenses.
Her friends are more like a family to her. They would often come over for sleepovers and Mrs. Yun never minded it. She treated them like her own kids. They used to live in the orphanage that was owned by Jebi's father. Since she often visited that place, they knew each other since they were toddlers. Her father's company was to be handed over to Jebi once she graduated. Right now the company had no CEO but it was handled and well maintained by the employees and her dad's secretary . She stopped by the company to examine the management from time to time. Moreover she was a simple girl, and did not know how to express herself. She never shared her pains and miseries to anyone except her friends. They always tried to cheer her up and make her smile. She never had any expressions on her face. She would not even scream if she saw a ghost or saw a place burning down to ashes. You would be the luckiest person if she smiled at you or you saw her smiling.
Well this was the first time Jebi was going on such an excursion without Mrs. Yun because she never went to picnics that were organized by her school or planned by her friends.
Back to the story...
Jebi was done with her routine and her packing and all was done. She picked up her phone only to see 6 missed calls from Daisy. "Why?" She mumbled while dialling her number. Immediately Daisy picked up and started yelling from the other side "YAHH HOW MUCH DO YOU SLEEP??? WE PLANNED TO MEET UP AT YOUR HOME BY 9 BUT ITS ALREADY LIKE 10..." before she could continue further Jebi sighed before interrupting in her usual monotone, "Ok fine I slept a little more. Where are you right now?" This time Daisy again yelled but it felt as if she was yelling right behind the room's door followed by some aggressive knocking. Jebi understood and unlocked her door only to see an angry Daisy along with Johan, Felix and Sully. Felix said "You wanted us to be on time and here we are sitting and waiting for you since the past hour. What the hell were you upto?" Instead of answering she said, "Are we all ready? Can we go now? Or should I change my decision?" Well her friends had literally begged her to join the trip and they very well knew how fast her decisions change. So sighing in defeat, they nodded and Sully excitedly said "Yeah LET'S GO! " They chuckled at her childishness and went downstairs. Jebi had her breakfast before saying a last goodbye to Mrs. Yun and went to the car. They adjusted all their stuffs and decided their seats. It was a 3 and half hours way to the camping site so they decided that they would take 1 hour breaks and 4 people would drive the whole way, excluding Johan who did not know how to drive.
They finally moved, Jebi waving to Mrs. Yun, feeling bad for leaving her own in that big house.
Mrs. Yun- "Hopefully you guys are safe throughout the trip. I have an intuition that something wrong is gonna happen. " she said and sighed.
Suddenly she vanished.... into thin air?? Where did she fade away?
STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT PART!
