the sound of splashing could be heard echoing through the halls of the neighborhoods, each step making your shoes sink further into the ground. even with the frosted air surrounding you, somehow warmth still found its way to you.

you both were now out of the school, both of you knew very well what the consequences were but you couldn't really care less at this point. every step makes your legs tremble with a burning sensation making you slow down by the second.

kunikuzushi then took one glance at you making you look away not knowing what to do. "what?" you say now looking confused as you thought you were doing something wrong. "nothing, you just seem tired. we should take a quick break." kunikuzushi says while kneeling against the wall, making you follow after him. you then took a quick deep breath before opening your mouth.

"i don't want you slowing down for me, don't think i noticed." you said in a whisper like manner as you felt guilty. "you are slow, i'll say that." when you heard this, you made a little hum to indicate you were listening.

"but I don't really mind slowing down." kunikuzushi responds while digging his face deeper into his scarf, making you laugh a bit. but as you were laughing the sound of thunder struck again making your laughing suddenly turn into a shriek.

the two of you guys then look at each other, and with that you guy's burst out in laughter. "l-let's keep this between us, okay?" you manage to say between your laughter. "yeah." this was the second time you caught yourself smiling, just what are you doing kunikuzushi?

"the rain has stopped a bit, follow me." kunikuzushi then leads his warm cozy hands to your freezing cold hands. "just where are you leading me to?" you say in a curious way making your head tilt the slightest.

"just trust me, this once please." kunikuzushi responds with a white like fog coming out of his mouth due to the endless amount of rain and cold wind coming down.

and so, you did trust him, a person you just met. you kept cursing yourself out in your mind, just why would you trust someone you just met? the reason was simple really. you trusted him because you haven't met anyone who has treated you as an equal, especially during your guy's first meeting.

you were so deep in thought that you didn't even realize that you guys had arrived at your destination, wherever that was.

"here we are at my house, don't mind the mess." you hear kunikuzushi say from the distance which makes you sprint to catch up. "don't worry, i'm happy that you even trusted me enough to even come in." you reassured yourself by trying your best to sound convincing. "alright then, my parents aren't home yet so don't worry about anything else." and with that kunikuzushi opened the door, having you go in first.
