Alice's* POV
"Ugh!" I groaned stumbling back from getting punched in the stomach again. I open one eye and look up at the filthy vampire challenging me with a cocky grin.
I move quickly to punch my opponent, but they dodge and disappear before my eyes. My eyes go wide in anticipation for this vampire's special move, a wicked and nasty kick to the middle of the spine. My back arches as I let out a gargled cry collapsing to my knees as a foot connects with my back.
When the other foot reached the ground, I grabbed their ankle, and they try to turn around struggling in a weak attempt to get free. I begin to flip them over my head using my body's weight and as much force as I can conjure. The back of their head meets the floor with a sickening crack I race forward and stab them in the chest with th woden stake from my belt. Their heart instantly stops. And they turn to ash and disappear before my eyes.
There was a moment of silence before the crowd erupts into cheers which makes my stomach tighten as everyone applauds my victory. I hop out of the ring and start movin through the croud to the back of the building.
I hate doing this twice a week; taking the life of another makes me feel sick to my stomach. Although you do what you need to in order to provide for your family.
I walk to the secret bathroom and change my clothes after examining my back which has two large purple bruises. I scrub my hands feeling sick about what just happened as I begin to dress my wounds from the fight.
I smell the scent of my old freind befor the door opens. I hear him chuckle and clap. "Damn girl, that was quite a show. Soon you'll be able to put my ass on the ground." "I turn around and grin at Matt my mood instantly brightens.
"Yeah, that means you throwing me around so much actually taught me something," I say teasingly and laugh.
"Exactly, Al, but sometimes I get the feeling you don't actually understand this place or its purpose." I give him a funny look and raise my eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
Well," Matt jumps on the counter, swinging his feet. He grabs my shoulder and turns me around.
Then, lightly pressed on my spine and under my right shoulder blade. "Ah! Fu-!" I yell and Matt shouts over my cursing.
"Language!" Opening a drawer Matt drops a container in my hand. "That'll numb the area." I nod in thanks and begin to apply it to the dark purple areas on my back after turning to face him. the ointment is cold and numbs the area quickly. "Mmm," I hum in contentment.
"Beter?" I nod and hand the containers back.
Matt lets out a long-exaggerated breath. "This is a place where hunters and elders send rogues, murderers, robbers, and any other bad person you can think. They are sent here to fight to the death or more like, fight for survival since if they survive, they live another day but everyone you fight here can't leave. I keep them, hostage, here under the laws of all supernatural. I also hire people to kill those who are held here, and you are someone I have hired. " He admits with confidence knowing that would change my mind set about killing those I fight here.
That was a memory from three years ago. I haven't been able to wake up and have been having flashbacks like these. Flashbacks of my old life. I wish I was as strong as I once was. I wish I was still the old me.
Update tomorrow. Have a great night. -mmc
