I sat on the couch and listened to my mom and dad fight for several hours. It was like this almost every night. It all started when we moved here, Mullingar, Ireland. My mom decided to bring us here for 'educational' purposes even though where we were originally from, I was the smartest person in my class.

I heard my dad screaming back at my mother. They fought because of the house, money, and other reasons. I sighed, turning the TV up even louder than it was. I couldn't stand the yells or the smacks.

The only thing that was good to watch was the news, not that the news was good. I sat bored just waiting for my mom and dad to stop yelling at each other. My dad came from the kitchen with his hands on both sides of his head. "Sweety, go to the park for a while. I have to talk to mom for a while." He said with a straight look on his face.

"Dad, you've been talking for like 4 hours." I said.

"Hanna, just please." He said quietly.

I sighed, getting up from the couch and grabbing my boots. I slipped them on and left the house. I looked around, the leaves still blowing around the roads. The place was new for me, so I tried to find my way by looking at signs by the roads. There were many kids running around the streets, playing tag. They weren't very cautious about where they were going or if there were any cars. I sighed and started walking down the sidewalk. I came across a medium sized park and sat at the bench. I didn't have much to do, so I decided to see if there was anyone I could make friends with. It was Summer break, so I didn't recognize anyone in the park.

I walked around, finding many people, but they just ignored me. I saw a blonde boy with blue eyes, about my age. He was sitting on the bench with a bunch of girls sitting next to him. I walked up to him and stood right in front of the bench. "Hi, I'm Hanna Lou, I'm new here." I said. I was nervous to what the girls or the one boy would say.

"Ello, Hanna, I'm Niall. Nice to meet you." 'Niall' said. He had a very easy-to-tell Irish accent.

I smiled. "Sit down, love." He said fastly as he patted the open spot next to him with the inside of his hand.

I smiled and sat down right next to him. The girls looked at me with jealousy in their eyes. I decided not to look at them, otherwise they would scare me away. Niall smiled as he fixed his hair with one of his hands. Most boys I hated, but this one, I was falling hard for. He was cute and he got the girls, the bad thing was I didn't get the boys.

The rest of the girls left and Niall and I were left there to talk. "So, tell me about yourself Hanna." Niall said after they left.

"Um, I just moved here from London and I'm going to be going to school with you." I said with a small smile on my face.

"I see. What's your favorite food?" He asked.

"Um, I don't know. I like everything. I usually have a craving for anything in my house." I said.

He smiled as he understood. "I like food, too. I'm known as the boy who loves food. I'm usually bullied for it, but it's better to play with food than play with a girl's heart."

His words were very simple, but effective. "That's smart." I said with a smile.

He nodded and scooted closer to me. My stomach got butterflies. He was about to talk, but I interrupted him. "I better get going, Niall. Nice meeting you." I said quietly.

I stood up and waved good-bye to him. He seemed very sad that I was leaving, but I wasn't quite sure if I was ready for a relationship. I walked back to my house and opened the door with a gentle turn to the knob. My mother was on the floor with her knees to her face. I walked over to her. "Mom?" I said.

"Oh, hey Sweety. There's supper in the fridge." She said as she buried her face deeper into her knees.

I sighed, I was too tired to actually make my own supper even though it might only have to be microwaved. "Where is dad?" I asked.

"He left to go to work, honey." She said.

"Oh, I'm going to go to bed. Night, mom. I love you." I said as I got up from beside her.

I pulled myself up the stairs and went into my room. I sat on my bed and kicked my boots off. I had too much to think about to turn my TV on. I fell into a deep sleep and started dreaming about the nice, blonde, irish boy I met at the park, Niall.
