Work was over before Jungkook knew it and it was a chilly Saturday, not very cold despite it being late fall. The soulmates walked side by side because Jungkook wanted Seokjin to meet his dad and they'd changed out of their work clothes into something a bit better to wear for the occasion.

Jungkook had no car and he wanted to take his time anyways, so they simply walked in silence and Seokjin followed without a question of where they were headed to.

Thankfully.

Seokjin didn't question how silent Jungkook was and they merely took in the nice breeze and the fall colors surrounding them as they kept on moving.

The building wasn't too far away from the cafe because it wasn't too far away from where Jungkook lived either. Jungkook soon stopped in front of the familiar building and he turned to the wolf, noticing that he was already looking at the place.

"We're here."

He could feel the drop in Seokjin's chest in his own as the wolf looked back at him with concern in his eyes.

Instead of looking at the older, Jungkook turned his attention back to the building; an above-ground burial and memorial that he'd seen every few months for the past few years.

"Come on." He reached back and grabbed ahold of Seokjin's hand, leading him towards the building, trying to not have second thoughts.

When they got inside, it was all familiar. It hadn't been a month yet since he'd last been there, his father's birthday being not so long ago. He just wanted Seokjin to visit with him for one reason. One he'd get to explain soon enough.

The building was medium-sized and it was modern. Jungkook had picked this place because it was close by and because it wasn't only a burial— not like the ones where they just shove their casket in and slap a name on it.

He walked to the right side of the building as usual and he pursed his lips into a weak smile at the sight of the roses he'd left for his dad displayed, along with a photo of him.

But as Seokjin followed his eyes and looked at the photo as well, Jungkook watched him instead.

He watched as Seokjin scanned over the family photo of bunny hybrids. Then, Jungkook could see the horror in Seokjin's eyes and feel the sinking in the wolf's chest as he scanned over the entire memorial display.

Not only were there the white roses and the family photo, but there were multiple photo frames.

One frame that was in the middle held Jungkook's father. Two frames on the left held Jungkook's mother and his little brother, while the frame on the right held their family photo.

Jungkook glanced down at the two display cases below his father's. The middle display had a photo of his mother in the center and the last display closest to the floor had his little brother's cheeky grin in the center frame.

"Hyung, look."

Jungkook didn't think twice before he sat on the floor to come face-to-face with his little brother's display. Seokjin followed and Jungkook swore he could hear his gulp beside him.

"Jungkook-ah..." Seokjin earned his attention and when he looked at him, he noticed Seokjin's wolf ears were pushed back and the heavy feeling in his chest got stronger— almost making Jungkook feel nauseous.

"Hyung," Jungkook responded in a whisper. "I wanted you to meet my dad because he was so excited to meet my soulmate someday. We used to talk about it all the time."

Tears welled up in his eyes as he thought about how many times his dad used to play around and tell him "I'm gonna be best friends with your soulmate, Koo. We'll both tease you, just you wait and see."
