Soulmates was a beautiful concept. A person out there who will accept you , understand you or love you like no other . It sounded like a fairy tale of sorts . To have your name written across someone's body and that someone's name also engraved in your skin .
No one knew when this phenomenon started happening. A name suddenly appearing on their body out of nowhere and staying permanently on their skin .
There were two type of people - 1. Who absolutely believed the soulmate system and waited years just to meet them , 2. Who didn't believe in it and went to find the ones for themselves on their own .
Arakita belonged to the latter . He thought it was such a bother to have someone's name written across your skin . Wasn't it like being burdened ? Not being able to decide who you want to love that was bullshit . Loving someone just because fate decided to pair you up . Being tied to someone. Having fate control you. Give him a break dammit .
Sure it sounded nice to have someone who would be there for you , who would care and understand you like no other and love you more than anyone else . Gosh it sounded so beautiful and perfect and cliché that made Arakita's nose scrunch in the ridiculousness of this whole ordeal .
Hell no one was perfect. Just because you get someone's name engraved on your skin doesn't mean you can understand them right away it doesn't mean you're bound to love them .
Such perfect things never existed . Arakita has seen so many soulmates breaking apart some of it becoming really ugly . His parents who was also a soulmate pair now fought most of the time . As a result his father was rarely home and they had different rooms . His parents were barely together as if because it was a duty because fate decided to pair them up and now they were together and married with three children and no way to get out of the situation. It was absurd.There was no understanding , zero communication between his parents. They were never there for him and his sisters . Sure they provided them with everything one could ask for except a stable environment , love , support and quality time .
Arakita was somewhat close to his sisters compared to others but that didn't help it never helped soothe the need of companionship and having someone there for him .
Love and soulmates seemed like a illusion to him . Cause he has from a very young age seen the cruelty of this world . He has seen the venom , the evil nature of people behind their nice facade . Everyone wore a mask and showed others what they wanted others to see . Arakita wasn't an exception either .
Growing up , he learnt to deal with his problems on his own . He learnt how to subdue his emotions and put a tough and brave facade cause if you show your weaknesses to others, they'll target it .
' Shinkai Hayato ' that was the name that Arakita got when he was 10 . He never bothered showing anyone cause honestly people made such a big deal about it , fussing over it , fantasizing about romantic scenarios and dreaming of happily ever after and perfect individuals .
He wasn't perfect or romantic or friendly . Arakita was blunt , harsh , rude, realistic, had anger issues and several traumas buried behind the layers of his tough exterior , his inability to express any emotion other than rage .
If ever got together with someone , they have to understand that . Arakita didn't wanted to be with someone only because of fate . If he ever ended up with someone , he expected them to respect, understand and appreciate him and know him without the bond. He wanted to end up with someone like that .
Mehhhh he didn't know what exactly to do about it but he wasn't going to search the one written on his right hip just because just because they are his soulmate . Nah he preferred to go through life instead of worrying about things that are yet to happen .
